not sure exactly what to call them, but here in my town there's a church out in the sticks where the pastor is gay woman with partner and they are as you can imagine very accepting of homosexuality. Has anyone been to a church like this. I believe in god but I'm not too wrapped up in the details. Do young gay guys go to church or should I hit up the unitarian chuch, which I here is flooded with like minded folks,. I feel kind of wrong going there for this reason but then again isn't that what everybody did in the old days? My friend's dad ushered at several different churches a month to get dates. I still remember seeing 8-9 different usher name tags on hung on his mirror. Seems like a decent plan to find something other than a one nighter.

Oh, they certainly do exist. Many are mainstream liberal Protestant who are welcoming to the GLBT....... community.

I am a member of a United Church of Christ church that has an openly gay pastor, a mixed, gay/Str8 and TG congregation and a commitment to social justice; it is wonderful.

Gaychurch.org is a great resource.

There are far worse places to meet guys and there are far worse reasons to go to church.

Go. Be open about being single. In lieu of a clipboard or other flat surface, Bibles make a great flat surface for writing down your phone number.

exactly - - if you are the type to go to church, then you probably want friends who are also that type. The best place to find them are at a church. The best way to grow the friendship and have a relationship develop is to do things with that group of friends and maybe find the special one.

You could also check out a Quaker meeting house. I don't know what state you live in, but in Northern states they are very liberal and even do gay marriages. If you believe in god but aren't too wrapped up in the details it might be a good choice.
