Homosexuality a Mental Illness?

I know up until the 70s, most American doctors considered homos to be mentally ill, and a majority now hold alternate views. I am homosexual but I have to confess that I sometimes wonder if there was any validity to these outragious claims from the past. I mean, this morning I discovered that Craigslist has personals as well, I thought it was only for selling things. Anyways, my jaw dropped when I saw the kinds of ads homosexuals were posting on it. If you've never seen it, check this out:
Men Seeking Men: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/m4m/

Now compare to this:
Men Seeking Women: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/m4w/
or even Women Seeking Men: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/w4m/

What are your thoughts on this? It really shocked me to see the comparison. Are homosexuals really mentally ill. Is promiscuity and sexual obsession a mental illness? Are a majority of homosexuals overly sexual? If so, was it always like that, or only in the recent decades?

The only difference is intermale sexual expression can be much more direct than male/female sexual expression. When you want a female, you need to be more circonspect. A woman is a plain hindrance for full sexual expression. That's the only difference. To assume on the basis of verbal expression there would be more promiscuousness or whatever between men, is plainly erroneous.

I think the direct sexual expression between men is much healthier than the veiled male/female sexual expression. You could even say the inhibition in male/female sexual expression can be clearly sickening.

This is a rather subjective view that I would not support, as a result of my own life's experiences.

Nature accords the human being a certain prudence in order to protect human life from the sort of self indulgence, that creates so much sexually transmitted infections arising from a self destructive, hedonistic driven life.

With respect to Chinese restaurants but sex for the sake of sex can so often leave a person needing a "refill", for want of the need to love and be loved.

Nothing subjective about it. Anyway, if Soulsearchers point of view would be true, mine would be as true. Soulsearcher only starts from the idea you can only express your sexuality in a certain way (=as he reads in the str8 ads and not as he reads in the gay ads; when you do it as in the gay ads, you are sick, he seems to conclude, but the contrary is as true).

Most certainly your opinion, "bulge" is subjective.

I am addressing a specific paragraph of your previous posting.
