Honey

A while back I went to a honey tasting room we have in town here. I tasted most of what they carry (all local stuff) and bought a bottle. Today I opened the bottle for some tea. Before the tasting room I don't think I have had any honey that was not clover or blackberry. I bought meadowfoam honey.

Have you ever tried different honeys? They can have a subtle to in your face taste.

For myself I'm getting the sampler set. Gotta try all the available varieties. This is soooo Cool. 😍

I love honey..!
I buy only from certified local beekeepers (we have a special certificat in Germany).
2-4 different honeys are always in my kitchen, plus my bf honey ;)

Whenever I travel I try to buy farm-honey on local markets, they usually let you taste.
One of my favourite is
heather honey.

I've seen honey with the com, but I've never tried it.

I took my caretaker with me when I went in the OP. I mentioned I had never had honeycomb before. He told me the tasting room we were just at had it, he saw it. Next time I go I am going to buy some. My carer says you chew it to get the honey out of the comb, then suck on it.

Sounds interesting to me,

Interesting in an entomological sense certainly, but, as I said earlier in the thread, rather icky in the culinary sense. The presence of honeycomb in a jar of honey would put me off even more!

Looks like Amazon has several offers.

I don't like the wax crumbling in my mouth. It just makes me uncomfortable --- Just like fruit seeds do.

Certainly a honey stix just seems easier.

Omg, I have visions of attending a local craft fair, going up to a table of beeswax candles, and start eating them! :ROFLMAO:

I get my honey from an Amish farmer. I’ve heard that eating honey from local beehives helps with allergies. It gets your body used to the pollen from your local flora
I'll take 2 shoo fly pies and 2 pints of chow chow please. TY

We haven't seen the honey from our hives yet, but I think that because of the drought, it will likely be darker and heavier because of the plants that were most available.

And we are thinking of it as a middle name for our cat after my recently departed aunt.

Only recently heard of this:

Anyone have experience/knowledge?...
Hm... obviously a misspelling, should read:
Nate`s Not Honey - 100% Pure Honey Confused with Habanero Chili Pepper Flake...

Is that some kind of Californication..?

/\LOL/\

Well, I can tell you that I have consumed much Nate's over the years. To rinse the last little bit of honey out of the jug takes boiling hot water and a lot of shaking.:) ---- For what your little scientific contribution is worth.
