This is all so bad it's hilarious. Here's one of the better ones:

Now for a tasteful splash page of the Human Torch fucking The Thing missionary-style! Splash page? More like SLASH page, am I right!

Note the Torch’s full, supple buttocks. If this isn’t a drawing of a naked guy on fire anally violating a semi-nude grotesquery in midair I don’t know comic books! The Thing’s blow-up-doll mouth is also kind of disturbing, as is the fact that he kinda looks like he’s pretty into it. Never would have figured Ben Grimm to be a bottom, but there you have it.

Most of them don't have gay content like that one, and like I said it's one of the better ones. Check out this horror:

This looks like the kind of semi-stoned parody that appeared in Mad in the 1960s. Drawn mostly, I have the impression, by terminally stoned people.

The whole review of this awful artist's work is here: http://www.progressiveboink.com/archive/robliefeld.html

Liefeld sells. I don't think anyone accepts his art as being great- editors and writers just know his sellin power. He started that 90's/image comic style of art and a lot of fans still like it.

It's ugly yeah, but so is Leinil you if you ask me. Shrug.

from your link,
all the drawings looks professional so i have nothing to complain.

Right from the title I knew it was Liefeld. He can draw imo,It's just that he does some stuff very weirdly/wrong.Like for example perspective.

I didn't care for his art either... but I don't think I would have noticed all he pointed out.

But after he did it was highly obvious, and irritated me more cause I knew what to look for.

It looks like, to me, he's pretty good at drawing stuff in the style and with the intentions that he wants, when drawing. Art doesn't have to be beautiful or appealing. (But years ago I knew a guy named Art and, indeed, he was beautiful and appealing, lol.)

It's an eye-of-the-beholder thing...

Liefeld-thread on JUB! (!) Where's Captain America?

Greg Land

Chris Bachelo "It was amazing during the 90's, but now ugh"

Not bad, actually. I don't particularly find it very exquisite, but at least he hit the anatomical landmark correctly and the face is bearable to see.

I just don't understand some critics. But again, it's back to every person's personal taste, so, yeah.

He does seem to have problems understanding basic body proportions and how the body should look in different poses. Or how to draw hands. Or feet. Or guns. Or swords. Though I suppose if your all ready getting paid for your services why bother trying to improve?

Críostóir - You kind of surprised me. I would have never taken you for a comic reader. What stuff are you interested in?

Actually I was quite an avid X-men and Legion of Superheroes (remember them?) reader in my long-vanished youth. Then there was a (many)-year period when I turned up my nose. Then I got over myself with Sandman. I love Girl Genius but haven't been able to catch up on it. I also love Order of the Stick (the one thing here that won't surprise anyone).

This particular thing I found because a friend of mine blogged about horrible comic-art treatments of women, and linked to this.

Naturally, I just HAD to post the "Human Torch Fucks The Thing" drawing. It's awful art, but the concept is sexy!

I'm more of a DC fan then a Marvel fan - I do know the Legion of Superheroes.

I guess I probably wouldn't have assumed they were doing 'IT' in the picture if someone hadn't point it out to me, but once they did, it was funny.

There's TONS of fan art out there of heroes having sex with heroes though.

Yeah, the Marvel comics were always pretentious. Also, it eventually annoyed me that the villains all talked in high literary English, and the heroes were Jus Plain Folks, aw shucks. But I really wanted to BE the Human Torch...until I saw Iceman.

On the DC side, the Legion was always fun, even if their idea of the 30th century was...unimaginative at best. All the heroes came from a planet "where everyone has that power," but they all looked human except Chameleon Boy. And...well, let's just say their idea of the 30th looked like most concepts I'd seen of about the 22nd. Nobody from 1011 could possibly even imagine the way we live today. You couldn't even EXPLAIN to them what an iPad is. And technology is advancing MUCH faster than that now.

I'm not sure there will BE humans in the 30th century, or that if there are that we would recognize them as such.

Anyway, back in the DCU 20th, I liked Superboy (remember I stopped reading comics before the reboot that eliminated him); there were a couple of panels of Superboy that I actually jerked off to! The Atom was more a Be fantasy than a Fuck fantasy, but I thought that was pretty cool too.

I stopped buying comics in the mid-late 80's. I'd occasionally stop in at a book store for an afternoon and read a few there and try to get caught up on 'old friends'. I've recently (last year) found out they're downloadable. I don't see this as being much diff. then reading them in the store.

DC is in the process of doing yet another full re-boot of all their titles, starting over at #1's. Wiping out all of history, and re-tooling everyone. From what I've read, a lot of fans are up in arms over it, feeling they wasted years, and money on stories that are now ... irrelevant.

I can't say as I blame them too much.

Some of the titles I collected were:

Justice League
Teen Titans
Wonder Woman
Superman
Green Lantern
Firestorm
Infinity, Inc.

And many others here and there, depending on the story, and whom guest starred.

I do remember (and probably still have) some of the old Superboy's. I would have never guessed you were an Atom fan, but his powers are kinda cool.
