Did anyone see the 2nd Exorcist with Richard Burton? I think it was called the Heretic. That movie scared me more than the first one. They name the demon and go into BG info about it. That movie scared the shit out of me when I was little. I thought it was scarier than the first one. Anyone agree or have anything to say about it.

"Exorcist 2: The Heretic" is widely regarded as one of the worst films ever in cinema history. Fortunately, it is so bad it's good, as opposed to just plain bad like the two recent "Exorcist" movies -- "Dominion" and "The Beginning" -- which also go back to Father Merrin's first encounter with the demon Pazuzu, but to much more snooze-worthy effect.

I can see where "The Heretic" may have scared the shit out of a child, but if you give it another look, I think you will find yourself laughing more than screaming -- and, no, the filmmakers did not intend it to be a comedy.

My favourite horror movie is HOUSE OF WAX . Good screenplay , Beautiful and Handsome casting !
I had watched a new horror movie from Thailand , that is really scary . Its name is Art of Devil . You guys have to watch it .

I'm fan of Asian horror movies like:

The Eye, A Tale of Two Sisters, One Missed Call, The Ring Trilogy, Ju On: The Grudge movies, Dark Water, Into The Mirror, 3 Extreme series etc.

But I also do like movies like Final Destination series, both Texas remakes, all Scream movies, I Know What You Did Last Summer etc.

I love horror movies.

Some of my faves

Ginger Snaps series(love werewolves and kris lemche)
My Little Eye(again kris lemche)
the final destination movies
Ghost Ship(the opening scene with the rope rocks)
Bram Stoker Dracula
House of 1000 Corpses
Devil's Rejects
Pet Semantary
Amityville Horror(original is so much better than the remake)
Carrie(original and remake)
The Grudge 1 and 2

Having Cats, who like to share gifts makes horror movies less gory.

I'm a fan of horror movies since I was a kid. I'm especially in love with all that bloody zombie stuff. The Troma movies someone mentioned before are also very entertaining. I really enjoyed "Citizen Toxie" and "Terror Firmer" (to name some of the newer ones).
Here are some more examples of my favorite horror movies:

- Dawn Of The The (Remake)
- The People Under The Stairs
- Clownhouse
- The Blob (Remake)
- House Of 1000 Corpses
- Resident Evil: Apocalypse (although it's rather action than horror)
- The Stendhal Syndrome
- Mother's Day
- Day Of The Dead
- Night Of The Scarecrow (trashy but gory)
- The Texas Chainsaw Massacre series
- A Nightmare on Elm Street series
- Friday The 13th series
- Sleepaway Camp 2 + 3 (The first one sucked!)
- Child's Play series (Oh, I love Jennifer Tilly!)

I don't mean to "diss" these movies.

But Once you've seen one, you've pretty much seen them all...I mean the only thing that changes really is the curse and how it's carried out.

I think you have to pick one over the other as a favorite.

I'm torn between

Ju-On and One Missed Call.

I know what you mean, after all it is of the same genre (curse-horror). Just like rom-com or action movies, they're very similar and very predictable, also known as genre/common conventions.

Same here, I'm torn between Ju-On and One Missed Call. Out of the Ju-On movies I prefered the 2nd part, the TV versions are good too. Enjoyed watching One Missed Call but didn't get the end, so I have to wath it again.
