Horror Movies

I feel like I am the only gay person or even guy who does not enjoy scary movies. Especially slasher movies. I can watch monster movies without much issue, but it is the slasher that I do not enjoy. I have too much imagination for them.

Question: do you like horror movies? Why or why not?

Yes. I do. I love the thrill and I find it funny when I see incorrect medical problems eg. fake intestines etc. My friend said I am even more scarier than the movie because I laugh during the movie.

I also don't like horror movies, I like thrillers, but the slasher flicks are too much for me

I generally don't care for slasher movies and other cheap unbelievable horror themes. Don't walk backwards, don't have sex. Laughs.

I love a good well done horror movie particularly if it has a reasonable believable sci-fi premise like the original Alien movie which was really just the classic monster in the attic/haunted house theme dressed up but it was great.

I don't either but trust me when I say Paranormal Activity isn't a horror movie.

Well yeah it is but whatevs, the third one was the best and I laughed at every scary part to hide the shit that had erupted in my panties.

I almost never discount a film due to genre and love horror films.

Some good or interesting slasher movies that come to mind include Black Christmas, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Dressed to Kill and Sleepaway Camp. More recently, Haute Tension was excellent.

I don't like horror movies but I did a double feature of the "A Nightmare on Elm Street" and "New Nightmare"

and well they were good.

seeing the new freddy was interesting to say the least.

I love them. I like the "Scream" series and the "I Know What You Did Last Summer" series. Anything where beautiful, promiscuous teens are stalked by a killer (circa the 90's-early 2000's) is an awesome time for me. "Orphan" is one of my favorites, too. My favorites are psychological thrillers like "Seven." I'm easily frightened, so watching these movies just give me a thrill.
I absolutely abhor movies like "Saw." Too much gore...even though I've never seen it.

How can you hate a movie that you havent seen especially when they hide the killer in plain sight the whole movie and you think "Im soo stupid" when the "what you thought was a dead body" is actually the killer as he stands up and the twist is revealed!!! He was there all along!! Oh my God, that was so clever of the writer.

^^ This kind of thing is the only reason I like horror movies haha. I find them boring or stupid usually. But when you have someone who is scared and wants to cuddle up to you, definitely worth it XD.

I love and hate horror movies, but I never know which it's going to be until I see it. Many of the best horror movies really bothered me, gave me creepies that lasted weeks, months, years beyond the initial thrill. I don't ever want to see them again, but I'll remember them always. Sometimes they make me mad... especially if the killer has some dumbass "reason" for killing. Nothing worse than a self-righteous serial killer; on the other hand, completely random killers are even more upsetting, I find I get upset at the utter indifference of a killer to his/her victim.

I loathe franchise horror movies, though I often found the original and sometimes the sequel good; and a lot of suspense/horror/thriller films that were supposed to be superscary just bored the hell out of me.

One rule, though: I never ever watch a horror movie by myself. And certainly not in the dark.

Yes. But since there aren't many good ones and not many (gay/bi) people to watch them with, it, like metal music, is a private love affair for me most days.

My friend doesn't like them either but he will watch them with me. He had never seen the first Friday the 13th, and he liked it. I think it's one of the best slasher movies, especially when you don't know the twist but you've heard of Jason being the killer. Next one I am gonna watch with him is Triangle. I liked it a lot and it's smart, it's not so much a slasher movie, but it does have violent parts.

Cabin in the Woods was good, but I saw a shitty cam copy online and I want to wait for a DVD copy to watch it again.

I abhor the genre and I remember having a fervent discussion in college in my Lit class: "Monsters and Madmen"; why people don't roll their eyes at someone getting impaled on a spike (Texas Chainsaw Massacre) but freak out when a woman gets raped (A Clockwork Orange).
