Apparently, it's supposed to come out later this year, and they've cast Roger Bart (who creeped me out majorly on "Desperate Housewives" as George) in a role.

Anyone looking forward to it? I am! LOVED the first one... made me so uncomfortable.

There is absolutely no reason for this film to exist. The first was utterly pointless.

The first film actually had a point. It showed us how easily roles get reversed (the dudes started out looking for 'meat' to buy when in the end, they get to be the ones on the menu) and just how powerful consumerism is (extents of how money can buy you perversion). It was fucking beautiful.

The homage to Suicide Club, and the cameo by industry legend Takashi Miike sealed the freaking deal for me. Besides, it wasn't that gory compared to most of the new stuff coming out.

I hear Hostel 2 still has Jay Hernandez in it, hope he doesn't die. It'll be three girls in place of boys.

I'm definitely looking forward to it. I loved it as well. It made me never want to leave the country, but all is well now and I'm excited for part 2.

I agree, the first film had a great impact on me. There was an underlying message to it all that was just full of substance. Some people don't like a 'horror' film unless it's die, die, die through the entire thing. "Hostel" told a story. Kept the questions coming, and the eventual revelation was stunning and an eye-opener.

I don't know, but I really didn't think Hostel had any true story beyond, "Be careful, you stupid American Tourists". The first half of the movie was all T and A, which was a boring waste of time. The gore was really cheesy, and not in a good way.

I don't see any role reversal. The kid getting the creepy german dude in the bathroom at the end wasn't role reversal, it was just simple revenge. Role reversal would have been if about half way through the movie (which could be done if we skipped the hour of pointless T and A and scooted the torture up in it's place) the kid figures out whats going on, the proceeds to kill each and every person taking part in the torture of his friends, and do it in a very torturous manner.

I think Touristas was a much better attempt at this genre.

And personally, If I walk into a hostel in the middle of Eastern Europe ( or anywhere for that matter) that is full of hot people and has it's own spa, my ass would automatically know that something was VERY VERY VERY wrong.

By role reversal, I meant that the film started out with our priveleged heroes looking for chicks to buy. By the middle of the film, they were the ones being 'bought'. In other words, they become the "prostitutes" (what else do you call living sacks of human meat that you can buy for pleasure?).

It isn't just a "don't travel there' kind of deal, especially considering that Hostel 2 is supposedly going to concern itself with the corporation behind the Hostels - - it's more like, 'this is how far reaching perversion is'. This is exemplified by the numerous international clients that the tiny little building draws.

To be honest, I haven't watched Turistas yet (it was never shown in my country), so I don't have a say in the matter as of yet.

Yes, I am also looking forward it. Though it makes the audience feel uncomfortable because of the "torture 4 fun" theme and not because of graphic F/X. Most of the tortures takes place invisible for the audience. I would have appreciated if they showed more visible violence in the unrated version than just the one shot with the chainsaw ...

... and the extended eye scene.

Let's hope the best for the sequel.

It'll be three girls in place of boys.

Does that mean that this time there are waiting hot boys for horny girls? :p

Unless they're lesbians, then yes. There will be boys. Hopefully.

Let's make a gay hostel. And let's KILL Phelps.

The eye scene was way too fake for me, I kind of just laughed through it. I was trying to decipher what "AAAARGH" meant in English.

My favorite scene had to be the one where Jap-girl jumped in front of the train. It's total homage to Suicide Club. Reminded me of my favorite line in a movie, ever:

Student 1: "Hey guys, watch me kill myself!"
Student 2: "Let's all kill ourselves!"

Classic.

I think the first one was not interesting at all.

I loved it. And there is a chainsaw scene in it. Every movie with some chainsaw action in it is worth to watch. ..|
Oh , I know I have got some kind of a chainsaw fetish.

Not necessarily.

TCM: The Beginning's kills were totally lame. Like, everyone igets offed in literally the same non-gory way. What, was Leatherface scared of wrecking the actors' ultra-perfect bodies that he had to resort to precision killing?

fjdklafd He is?!

I'll definitely be seeing it again. He made the first one worthwhile.

I also didn't find the movie that heavy. In nearly every internet forum where I read something about the film the people were saying how "heavy" and "disturbing" it was. I was a little disappointed that most of the action took place off the screen and that there was only one short hunt with the chainsaw close to the end. I always loved when Leatherface hunted his screaming victims through the woods. At least it was more "gory" than the remake which I also liked. But I liked all TCM movies. Even the kind of cheesy "Next Generation".
