Appreciate the retrospective of Sean Connery. He was a fantastic actor and remarkable person. He made the movies in was in extra special. So much talent. Thank you for sharing.

Although Sir Sean will undoubtedly be best remembered for playing the role of James Bond, he appeared in so very many other movies, many of them great and they are so because of him. He is undoubtedly one of my favourite actors of all time

The world is certainly a richer place for the contributions of Sean Connery. In a way, it's kind of a shame, that his remarkable talent raised the role of James Bond to the point of the character eclipsing the actor's success. Though as amazing as that was, making Bond able to be portrayed by others, almost "seamlessly", ensuring the continued success of that franchise, it also distracted from the overall recognition of his incredible acting abilities in other roles.
In comparison, Patrick Stewart was advised not to play Capt. Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek, for fear that role would 'over shadow' his genuine talent, too. However, Stewart did so many other things immediately after that he's recognized as Sir Patrick playing a role, rather than folks thinking it's Picard being someone else. Whereas, in Sir Sean's case, most thought of him as Bond pretending to be actor Connery. Type casting can be a tricky thing. In that way, Sean Connery may have been too good as Bond for his own good as himself.
