Best Gay Erotica 1996 (the first in the series) is very good so far. Interestingly, three stories (so far) involve sex with women.

In one case, the woman is pretending to be a man and it works out very well. That story is now a chapter in a book I posted earlier (The Leather Daddy and the Femme). Another involves one man doing something for his partner, in this case, encouraging him to act on his attraction to a female friend. The third involves two marines who end up doing each other after a drunken encounter with local female prostitutes. As typical of stories in the 1990s, at least one other portrays a partner with advanced AIDS.

1) First, some history: Masturbation month was started in 1995 by the Good Vibrations sex toy shop in response to the firing of U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Joycelyn Elders for her remarks on masturbation at a 1994 United Nations conference on AIDS. Regarding masturbation as a sexual outlet for young people to help avoid riskier behaviors, she said, "I think that it is part of human sexuality, and perhaps it should be taught."
