Pride Month!

The paragraph below is from the Wikipedia entry on the late Brenda Howard, a woman I knew very intimately.

She is known as the "Mother of Pride" for her work in coordinating a rally [one month later] and then the "Christopher Street Liberation Day March" to commemorate the first anniversary of the Stonewall Rebellion. Howard also originated the idea for a week-long series of events around Pride Day which became the genesis of the annual LGBT Pride celebrations that are now held around the world every June.

I didn't write anything original today, but I think I have a good excuse. I finally submitted my first stand-alone short story. Another piece is almost ready to submit to an anthology for new writers. Would anyone be interested in giving me some feedback on the draft? Here's the beginning:

Friday morning, Michael slid the blanket across his sleeping partner’s ass and admired the firm mounds covered with tiny brown hairs. Eliot’s olive-hued skin and dark hair contrasted sharply with his own pinker tone and dark blond coloring. Michael found Eliot’s fuzzy buttocks particularly sexy. Eliot’s bottom and thighs currently had something even better, ten perfect double tracks left by his cane. Michael noted the absence of bruises and felt pleased with his technique as he kissed along the lines. After placing two rows of soft kisses, he parted the cheeks and briefly tongued the puckered entrance to Eliot’s now-stirring body.

“Why’d you stop? That felt wonderful,” Eliot said.

“I intended to wake you. You’re awake.”

Eliot pressed his face into the pillow and feigned a deep snore.

“Don’t tempt me. We both have work today.” He smacked one fuzzy cheek. Hard.

“Something quick?” Eliot rolled onto his back and palmed the evidence of his interest.

Most of the story involves punishment with the cane, but there is some sex. One female gets caned non-sexually.
