Hot Tubbing with Family Members

Was reading another forum and the writer said that he and his wife went in the hot tub with there 8 and 13 yr old sons ... all naked....the neighbor thought it was "strange". Do you think it is strange? I sit in the hot tub all the time naked with my brother and many family members...doesnt seem strange to me but maybe I am jaded to a degree.... is it strange or odd to be naked with other family members in a hot tub? especially kids? I am not talking non-family members because I know/see that is odd and I would not do that ever because of the appearances it would give to strangers but what about family members?

It's my standard and I am not heterosexual. I simply gave the OP my opinion.

While it is not unusual or inappropriate for siblings of the same sex to see each other naked, I think it is not right for teenaged siblings of the opposite sex to do so. That is just my judgement.

Same with my family. As an adult, I've done naked hot tubbing only with people I hooked up with.

IMO, the problem is that some people associate nudity with sex. I don't understand why, but they do. Now if you raise your kids to see the world this way and then get into the tub nude with them, there's a problem.

I don't really have a problem with it. Based on the little bit of information you listed it sounds like a family spending some time together and enjoying the hot tub. I know it's not something we usually see but in different cultures nudity isn't seen as taboo. Nudity may be perfectly acceptable and not an issue in their family/culture.

I wouldn't really want to see my parents naked but it wouldn't freak me out either.

I saw all my family members nude...... clutching doorways during the Northridge Earthquake.....

Was kind of funny afterwards, actually. But I came from a culture where nudity is not a big deal. I use my hot tub nude all the time.
I have had friends nude in the hot tub as well as family. It's not a big deal if you don't make it one.

On a side note, it is recommended to bathe nude in a hot tub to avoid getting soap/detergent residues into the water. Of course, it is ALSO recommended to shower before. This is really to keep the water clean and balanced and has little to do with being naked.
Feels nice, though.

I saw an old interview with Emilio Estevez and Charlie Sheen on growing up with their hippy parents in Beverly Hills. Their father is the actor Martin Sheen. Their parents were always naked around the house cooking, cleaning, gardening, etc. Even though nakedness was ok in the house, they (as kids) were too embarrassed to bring friends over. As teenagers, they would often asked their parents to cover up.
