Hi, I am still having some problems with my Hotmail account on Outlook 2007. When I open Outlook for the first time everyday, it continues to ask me for my password, despite the fact that I check the box "remember my password" every time. And then, perhaps twice or more a day, it suddenly asks me to enter my password again. It simply will not remember it, despite my best efforts!

Also, occasionally, perhaps once a day, it will suddenly say "microsoft exchange server is experiencing problems, Outlook is now offline" (or something of the sort). It is extremely annoying, and I don't know how to make it remember my password and prevent it from continually going offline!

Thanks

Cannot help you, sorry. I gave up on M$ Outlook yrs ago. The reason I butted in is to see if you have tried thunderbird?

HOTMAIL and OUTLOOK are not compatible systems. I use HOTMAIL most of the time and have experienced the same PW problems that you have. All of a sudden I was not asked for my PW, but I could not tell you why~

I had this exact same problem when I got my notebook with Vista Home Premium a few months ago. I was trying to use Outlook 2002 on Vista, but I guess it's not fully supported. I don't think Outlook 2002 can save any passwords on Vista - you have to reenter them every time you run Outlook.

I looked for a solution to this problem for a long time and couldn't find one. There are lots of posts about this but everyone said all you can do is upgrade to Office 2008. I don't want to spend all that money, though, so I've just been living with the (extreme) annoyance. Are you sure you have Outlook 2007, johnscott? If this is still a problem in Outlook 2007, I'm glad I didn't waste my money!

Seems like there should be some kinda patch by now. If anyone knows a way to fix this, I'll give you a big kiss. It's been driving me crazy!!

Outlook 2002: It runs, but email account passwords are not saved. After you enter the password during the first email check, Outlook will remember it until you close down Outlook. This is because Outlook used the protected storage interfaces to store passwords and these are no longer supported in Vista. Unless Microsoft decides to create a publicly available hotfix to address this, you won't be able to save passwords. Outlook 2002 is outside of mainstream support so this is unlikely to happen as it's not a critical security hole.

Hi. Luckily I didn't but it. My Dad bought it for himself, and I just snatched it! I use Windows XP Home Edition S.P. 2 with Office Enterprise 2007.
