Hotrich Appreciation Thread

Good evening, Gary, Araucaria, Bill and Christian. (*8*)(*8*)(*8*)(*8*):kiss::kiss::kiss:

Well, Gary,(*8*) I do not go around like that, you naughty boi! :p:lol: I am using an umbrella as a portable sunshade however, and it’s working really well. I hope you are having a great day today.

Hi, Araucaria, (*8*) I’m managing that hot weather, and using that umbrella is helping me to go for some walks which I would not otherwise be doing.
I hope you are having a lovely day today.

Hi, Bill.(*8*) I’m okay, and just relaxing this evening. I hope you are having a great day today.

Hi, Christian.(*8*) I’m hoping all has gone well for you, and that you have got back to work. I’m keeping as cool as I can, and like I say, using that umbrella is helping to keep me cool outside.
I hope to hear from you soon.:kiss::kiss:

Good afternoon, Bill.(*8*) thank you, and I hope you are having a great weekend too. One more day of heat tomorrow, then the storms start on Monday, and bring about a change to much cooler, fresher weather. :gogirl:
I hope to have an early morning bike ride tomorrow before it gets too hot. I recall riding to York in 86F temperatures and it was too much for me. That was just over ten years ago. Plus the tarmac was melting in places too….

Good afternoon, Bill.(*8*) I managed a short bike ride in the morning before it became too hot. When I got home I was drenched in sweat! It has become very humid today before the storms start tomorrow. The forecast is suggesting some huge storms lasting several hours may happen. If I disappear it’s because the power has been cut, which I hope won’t happen.
I hope you are having a lovely day today.

Good Sunday Evening Rob (*8*)

I hope the storms aren't too bad for you. Time for you to get an air conditioner. With global arming it is only going to get worst for everyone.

Doing well my way.

Good evening, Bill and Darren.(*8*)(*8*):kiss::kiss:

Firstly, we have a huge storm about to hit us, so I don’t know how long I can be around for. Here’s the radar picture ot it, and I live just a couple of miles to it’s north. It’s going from the south to the north. Some flash flooding has been reported from it owing to the rock hard ground unable to absorb all the rain and hailstones.

So, hi, Bill. (*8*). You are absolutely right about our need for AC. I doubt it will happen for it’s just not the British way of going about things like these heatwaves etc., The trouble is, even if everyone had AC, with the sky high cost of electricity, no one would be able to afford to use it, unless the government sees the light and helps to pay the majority of of everyone’s huge, huge power bills. £5000 per annum is what they might going to be by January next year.
Anyway, I hope you are having a great day today.

Hi, Darren.(*8*) sorry I missed you last night. I hope you are doing well these days. Now, if the storms allow me, I’ll be cooking my evening meal shortly.

The bugger has just double posted!!

(*8*) Good evening, Rob

You pay high energy prices, but JUB gives you two posts for the price of one so it all evens out. not.

We have our own little hydroelectric power plant here on the Indian Reservation providing [STRIKE]low[/STRIKE] cheap electricity. I rarely pay over $200 a month in the hottest months and about $60 the rest of the year. Now over in Parker, they pay well over $500/month during the summer as they use a for profit electric company.

Try to keep cool.

Good Monday evening/Tuesday morning Rob! (*8*)

I hope your storms weren't too ferocious. That radar looks like what we have in Florida every afternoon in the summer. I hope your power is still on, and you're doing OK.

Good evening, Rob (*8*)
We had some good rain on Friday, and more is announced for tomorrow. If I don't see it I don't believe it

Good afternoon, Gary, Bill, Paul, Araucaria, Darren, and Christian. (*8*)(*8*)(*8*)(*8*)(*8*)(*8*):kiss::kiss::kiss::kiss::kiss:

Hi, Gary, (*8*) I didn’t know power bills were mostly so high in the USA. Ours have, usually, been very low for a long time. Anyway, the savings I’ve made, elsewhere, are helping out. A portable generator comes to mind, but I’ve nowhere I can keep it and run it.
Well, I hope you are having a great day today.

Hi, Bill.(*8*) that Monday storm was not as bad as feared, but we did have one on Tuesday. It was quite severe. Yesterday, many places in the south of England flooded owing to the ground being so hard, and the rain water just ran off it, hence the flooding.
I hope you’ll have a great day today.

Hi, Araucaria, (*8*) the power didn’t go off, and, from what Bill had said before about bad storms and Florida, I kept thinking that, perhaps, England had been moved to just off the coast of Florida! ;). Anyway, it’s more normal today with some showers, and warm, but nothing extreme.
I hope you’ll have a lovely day today.

Hi, Paul.(*8*) I hope you had the forecast rain. I’m the same as you. I’ll only believe it if it rains, and what happened this morning? It rained hard!!! I just managed to avoid getting soaked.
I hope you have been having a great day today.

Hi, Christian.(*8*). I love that, and how true it is. A spanking is always necessary!:p. Well, luv, I hope you are enjoying what I sent you, and that your work is not being too stressful for you. I’m okay and about to have my evening meal. I’ll see you later on,:kiss::kiss:

Hi, Darren.(*8*). It’s nice to see you, and I hope you are okay. I’m doing well, and will relax after I’ve had my evening meal.

Good evening, Bill.(*8*) I napped for much of yesterday evening, I must have been tired. Anyway, all is okay today and I’m having my evening meal next.
I hope you are having a great day today, and will have a lovely weekend.

Now here’s a photo’, which I’ve just taken, of a model of two carriages, on my model railway, which are to a design by the LNER’s Sir Nigel Gresley. The two carriages are articulated to try and save weight, plus wear on the tracks. The last of the prototype twin sets were withdrawn by 1962. I built the model, some time ago, from plasticard, brass and other raw materials. I recall it taking about a month.
