Good Sunday afternoon Rob! (*8*)

Didn't you say today was supposed to be rainy and cold? Well I guess you can't really get out. Just turn up the fire, and get nice and cozy with a good book and a cup of tea.

(*8*) Good afternoon, Rob.

I would imagine being a fireman on a stream loco in cold weather is a desirable job.

Good evening, RM, Araucaria, and Gary. (*8*)(*8*)(*8*):kiss::kiss:

Well, it chucked it down for most of the day, and was cold with it. Desthat, I was very determined, and got out on the bike for a short ride. Then it was, after drying and oiling the bike, time for some hot soup, alowith a nice shower and some warm, dry clothes. Then just relaxation for the rest of the day. Tomorrow it’s local council election time, and I really don’t know who to vote for. I’m one of the ‘Undecided’!

Well, Gary, you’d maybe think working on the footplate of a steam locomotive would help to keep you warm, but, according to all those I’ve spoken to, it’s only your front that gets warm. Your rear end gets frozen stiff! :p:lol:

Good Wednesday afternoon, Rob! (*8*)

Sounds like you made a day of it, with your bike ride in the cold and rain, and then pampering yourself once you got home.

I hope your local elections went well. America and Britain have somewhat different political systems, but it seems we both have plenty of politicians and elected officials who are jerks. Oh well!

Good Friday evening, everyone. (*8*)

Well, I have made it through to Friday! :gogirl: Now for a three day Bank Holiday weekend. It’s been such a busy week - plenty has got done.

So, I hope you are all okay, and will enjoy a relaxing weekend. I hope, despite showers being forecast, to out on the bike over the weekend.

Good evening, RM and Araucaria. (*8*)(*8*):kiss:

My back is much better today. I think just resting it in bed last night helped it, plus your good wishes and support.
So I got out on the bike today for a short ride. I’m still making plans for some twelve hour, 100 mile rides during the summer months.

I hope you are both having a great day. Tomorrow we have the May Day bank holiday, so will, hopefully, enjoy a restful day.

(*8*) Happy May Day, Rob.

Will you join me in a dance around the maypole?

Hi, Gary.(*8*)

I hope you are having a great day today.

Oh dear, it’s May Day! (White Rabbits). It has brought to mind Doctor Who, and a Jon Pertwee story called The Daemons. I won’t say anymore, but the Doctor got a bit tied up in it!

Anyway, I’ve been thrown off key today by something called Sky Trumpets. I honestly have no idea whether they are a real phenomenon, or a hoax. But I know we are busy destroying the Earth, and penalties will have to be paid. Well, here’s a link to a site which has some video of those trumpets.

Hi, Christian. (*8*) I hope you are having a great day, and hopefully your work is not too demanding today.

I’m okay, but unable to relax today with all the work going on in a neighbour‘s flat. But I’m saying no more about that.

So, take care,

Love,

Rob.:kiss::kiss::kiss:

Good Thursday morning, Rob! (*8*)

I'm glad you're getting out and doing bike riding, and sorry about the neighbors working. Hope you're having a great week otherwise.

Hi, Araucaria. (*8*)

Thank you, the work is now finished, but there’s a new problem with that neighbor. I, unfortunately, have had to make a formal complaint, in writing, to the local authority, about a dog which he has just taken ownership of. First thing he did was to go out leaving the dog to bark. It’s a little dog, and has a loud, yapping, shrill bark. It’s doing my head in. If nothing gets quickly resolved, I’ll have to move house. I cannot see any other alternative.

Well, I’m sorry that I let off some steam there, but it’s been a bit like a safety valve for me.

I hope you are having a great day today.

Update. The guy has just come home, and the dog is in trouble. He’s shouting at it, calling it names - I think it’s done something… Anyway, I think, in fact I know, from before, that he’s unfit to keep a dog. I’ll be making a phone call about it all first thing tomorrow morning.

Oh, that's terrible!:( It sounds like the poor dog might be in danger. When a dog is left alone and it barks or whimpers, it is upset at being alone. In the wild, a puppy would bark so its mama would find it before a wolf or other predator. The dog probably tore something up because it couldn't cope. That person had no business owning a pet. I hope Animal Control or whatever they call it in Britain can rescue the poor creature!
