I’m tired after moving furniture, etc,, for the window installation tomorrow morning. I don’t think I’ll be online tomorrow. And, of course, there’s going to be a lot of cleaning and putting things back afterwards. It will take a few days, for I’m not going to rush it.

Thank you, it went really well, and the new windows are really nice, very modern.

Now, unfortunately, I have a plumbing issue underneath my kitchen sink. It had just about stopped draining water away, so yesterday afternoon I had a go at trying to clear it. I got a huge amount of stinking gunge out of the pipes. It really was disgusting! Anyway, I got all but one join back, but that last joint decided to be very awkward, and it just kept leaking water every time I tested it on thinking I had finished it.
So I had to concede defeat and called out a plumber. He came this morning, and fixed it for me, but then he noticed that the plug hole was not fully fixed in place and had started to leak. So he tried to tighten it, and there was an almighty Crack!!! The drain that the water goes down had broken away. Unfortunately he didn’t have a new one in his van, so will be coming back, later next week, with a new one and will get it fixed in place to finish the job.

I know, it’s quite a carryon! But I’m managing, in the meantime, with a bowl. I’m emptying it in the bath.

Well, I sincerely hope that you are okay, and having no big issues in your life.

Home fixings can be a horror story. I hope yours will end soon. In the meantime I hope you can find something to kkep your mind out of it ;)

Now, today’s news is that the plumber is booked to come on Thursday to get a whole new waste unit, etc,, fitted to cure things once and for all. I’m looking forward to it.

Well, the plumber came, on Thursday, and fitted some new pipes, but there is a huge blockage, and he is coming back next Tuesday, with the rods, to try and get it unblocked once and for all. Unfortunately he can only come next Tuesday owing to his exceptionally busy work schedule.
In the meantime, I am putting one of those drain unblockers down it, and have bought in a rod called a Plumbers Snake. I am busy learning how to use it.

I hope you are both keeping safe and well, and will both enjoy a lovely and relaxing weekend.

Wow, you're sure having problems with your kitchen pipes! It almost sounds like you're having to have your plumbing completely rebuilt! Let's hope the plumber can finally fix everything on Tuesday, and that your snake will help in the meantime.

Well, I’m okay, and managed to have a good bike ride today. Thank you, all, for dropping by in my thread, it’s always really nice to see you all. I also visited the cemetery today with it being Father’s Day over here, and I’m relaxing this evening.

The plumbing is something that I feel could now go on for some time. I guess that if the rods, that the plumber is due to use on Tuesday, cannot clear the blockage, then the pipes will have to be ripped out and replaced. I hope I’m wrong about that, but I can’t think of anything else right now.

Anyway, I hope you’ve all had a great weekend. And I hope you’ll all have a great new week.

Now, here’s a photo showing the footbridge at Beverley station under removal. It was judged to be knackered, and unable to be repaired.

I have nothing to say! :p:lol: But it is finally all fixed!(!):gogirl: My water is running down the plughole as it should be. The plumber was very pleased, and I certainly am. So I did not need to be reamed out! :lol:

I'm sorry to hear about your injury that's going to require forgoing giving yourself pleasure for a few days. Man, that really sucks, and not in a good way.

It looks like you get enjoyment out of collecting your model trains. That should help keep you happy for a while.
