Well no, I used the word 'ignorant' due to your snarky 'scars' comment. You can make a point without being insulting to people just because you think differently.



I wasn't calling him ignorant just becase he doesn't like tattoos...

It comes from when I was going into the Navy.

I was asked, "do you have any scars, tattoos?"

After that, I have equated the two. A tattoo is a coloured scar.

I just got some more tattoos within the last couple of weeks. The one on my chest was 2 weeks ago and the other four were on Friday on both of my arms and calfs.

Honestly its been said before... It really depends on who you are, what the tattoo is of and what it means. (also whether you want to see it or not is a big deal. I like being able to see what is permanently inked into my skin.)

But seriously, my granddad, ex-navy with lots of tats, once told me "If you get a tattoo, it has to really MEAN something. Something that will mean the same thing to you on your deathbed as it means today. " He regretted a lot of his tattoos, many of which looked like blue-black blobs in his 60s.

He also told me once that he struggled to get jobs once he left the navy because his tats were so visible. If you get them, put them somewhere that you can easily cover in a more formal setting.

I think if you're going for a decent-sized one, stretch it on your back across your shoulder blades. I've always found that to be cool.

Agreed. That's where I got my first one. Mind you if its not large enough to actually stretch at least close to shoulder-to-shoulder, maybe another place would be good. The only places I would suggest NOT getting it (only because its your first, and you aren't sure how much you'll handle the pain yet) are Ribs, tops of your feet, or palms/ sides of your hands. (apparently palms don't hurt as much as they itch fiercely).

and @turnandburn: I LOVE the Illuminati Tat. Looks Awesome and what do the others say? I assume they're written in Greek right? As far as I can guess its:
"fate" or maybe "family"?
"Conquest"?
"Belief"?
and "More"? (i assume I'm way off on this one, its just all I can think of it being when I look at it LOL)

Thanks! I was really happy the way the diamond turned out. I love it. The other four are the four horsemen of the apocalypse. Bellum = War. Mors = Death. Conquestum = Conquest and Fames = Famine.

I think most tattoos are ugly. I really only like small to medium ones. I hate them on the neck of leg. On the upper arm is kinda sexy or on the lower back... very sexy. But it has to be a nice tattoo as well.
