While citizens in the North East are waiting for FEMA to help with the damages, Boner plans to spend 1.5 million to their lawyers to defend DOMA. I cannot believe he would even try when they want cuts elsewhere to cover spending.

Five months after House Republicans announced that they had set a $500,000 salary cap for the lawyer hired to defend the Defense of Marriage Act, a revised contract shows that the pay limit has been lifted to three times that amount.

“It is absolutely unconscionable that Speaker Boehner is tripling the cost for his legal boondoggle to defend the indefensible Defense of Marriage Act,” Drew Hammill, a spokesman for House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), said in a statement. “At a time when Americans are hurting and job creation should be the top priority, it just shows how out of touch House Republicans have become that they would spend up to $1.5 million dollars to defend discrimination in our country.”

You know Bob I agree with you but way to much focus is put on teachers, fireman, & policeman. Never forget the dude working the sewers keeping the toilets from backing up 24/7 or the civil service worker making sure the water supply is safe and you got pressure to flush that toilet, take a shower, ..or fight the house fire with working fire hydrant.
Dirty gritty nasty work that takes no holiday and we depend on these people far more on average than a cop or even a fireman and they take a back seat. But on Christmas Eve at 1 AM there is someone making sure the roads are passable if there is ice,snow, rain and wind.
How about the janitor at the school in Wisconsin who makes a astounding 23 K a yr after about 3 yrs and now has a 15% deduction. Just imagine the schools without janitors or the dude who patches the pot holes after a Feb thaw and they can swallow up a full group of Wall-street evil doers 2012 Lexus in one gulp? They are the first to raise hell that the roads got pot holes and their car is out of alignment. Who cares if there is no money to even buy the asphalt and equipment to fill the fucking things they whine the loudest.
That city worker washing out the inside of a trash truck at 11PM on a hot August evening for $9.75 a hr and has been doing that for 50 hrs a week the last 15 yrs is one we can't do without either, but never remembered until the trash truck stinks up your neighborhood leaking hazardous waste from its tub.

Also along with this increase they seek they want to decrease the heating assistance for the poor and elderly among many other cutbacks. These dudes are sacks of shit, and anyone who doesn't think so is just a gutless self centered asshole. Even worse if you are gay and support these ass hats.
