676 songs on iTunes, and about 100 CDs (I'm guesstimating here), including some I've made.

I'm not sure how many albums I have on iTunes, I tend not to download whole albums so it's probably not all that many; but I have 1524 items, a handful of which are videos, which takes up 8.33g. I can shuffle for three and a half days without repeating.

I have somewhat eclectic tastes, anything from Baroque opera to disco remixes to crossover/sellout goth rock, but my favorite artist is Ella Fitzgerald.

I have around 3600 tracks copied onto my computer, including classical, jazz, rock, pop, country, dance, blues, folk, etc - bit of lots, but no punk or heavy metal or house, I don't think.

BUT! two or three weeks ago itunes told me I had an update; I agreed and it totally removed all my itunes copies and reinstalled the whole thing, only to leave me with static going through not only my itunes copies, but also throughout my Window player recordings! Pissed right off! I have no idea how to fix the problem, so if you know what I should do, please let me know.

I have over 250 songs. My theory is if I hear a song I like, I buy it.

Is funny to find this here, just was talking to my partner about this, according to Itunes, it would take me 145 days to listen to all the music in my hard drive. That is a lot of days. I have been collecting since cds first came out.

Holy Crap! I couldn't count them all... More than 300 of the old 45 rpm's, over 200 12" vinyl albums, shelves upon shelves of CD's, probably 100 or more old acetate 78's. That's on top of the reel-to-reel and cassette tapes on the top shelves. It would be impossible to calculate the total number of tunes.
It took me more than six months to listen to all my CD's - started with the "a's" and went through the entire collection.
And I haven't even gotten an iPod or Nano, or any other electronic music device yet.

I like physicals, but I have 933 items, I just use gift cards when I get them. I like Alternative (which is very broad for the bands I consider Alternative).

1375 I believe. Most of them are either single songs/artists or incomplete albums.

I'm more of a song than album person.

I currently have 2567 songs on Itunes and 851 albums. I hear a song I like/luv, I immediately get it. There are still hundreds if not thousands of songs I want on my ipod but I haven't heard them in a min and forgot the names :/ so i can't download them.

Over 4,000 songs on I-tunes and I own a little over 100 hard cop CDs.

I have a few records, but I only display them on my wall....

10,912 tracks. I have only half of them on my ipod. It's a pain in the ass to sort and catalog them!

In vinyl I got about 1200 , was just out in the garage today looking at them all covered in dust and shit but I found a vintage turntable out there too. I am going to get it moving again I think.
CD's are stacked in the garage pretty deep but I will likely move most of these out.
They never moved me like they were supposed to and since MP3's came out now in higher bit rates and formats the CD's look sad.
I have about 22,000 mp3s but a decent portion is obscure black metal and viking music....

I have about 50 GB left to fill with music :D

My taste varies a lot, and I tend to get cravings for specific things. Some cravings are bands with cello, yodeling, world music, and Bay area hip hop/rap. I find beauty in a lot of music. I even love pop music. Since the chords stay relatively the same, you can mix and match with the music and improvise rather easily. I really love to listen to things that sound very different.

The benchmark is still the fabulous blues rock musician, collector and
Canned Heat ( http://www.rufrecords.de/biography/canned-heat.b14.html )
co-founder Bob Hite who once counted more than 60.000 LPs and
78s at home.

I'm far away from that: only about 800 albums on vinyl plus 500 CDs.

Since I put the focus merely on books & whisky... :square:

I have somewhere around the neighborhood of 120 GB worth of music in my iTunes library.
