The last time I can recall country music being in the charts was Billy Ray Cyrus and Achy Breaky Heart.

Luke Bryan's been in the Top 20 the last several weeks.

You'll hear a lot of people say "I like all kinds of music... except country", and if you even admit to liking it, people will make fun of you.

I might reply more along the lines of "I like multiple kinds of music...including country"
(not a fan of allot of the new stuff out these days...I prefer the 70's/80's/90's stuff more)

I dislike country music...mainly because, ironically, it doesn't sound country enough. It mainly sounds like auto-tuned pop with an occasional fiddle or banjo tossed in, or a lyric about trucks and beer. I prefer the older stuff - Carter Family, Loretta Lynn, Jim Reeves, that sort of thing.

I feel the same way except for recently. Many of the recent artists sound very traditional and I like their sound. Really like Jason Aldean and Billy Currington... test drive Dirt Road Anthem and People are Crazy if you havent heard and dismissed them already. The new crop sound a lot like Waylon, Willie and the like.... or maybe Kansas and Missouri are rubbing off......
