How can I stop farting?

The problem is right now, I'm back home for Christmas and I keep on farting. And my farts don't smell that good. I don't understand why I'm farting so much and so smelly.

Any hints guys? Thanks!

Unless you have a GI infection ("stomach flu"), you need to look at your diet.

And a change in diet while you're home for Christmas may also cause problems- especially if you have changed the amount of fiber and high carbohydrate foods.

Many guys become lactose intolerant as they get older, so you might also take a look at your dairy consumption.

There's always Beano also which is an over-the-counter pill you take with your first bite of food. It provides the necessary enzymes to aid digestion without causing all the gas. It's cheap and you can find it in the pharmacy area of any store.

Flatus or gas is a naturally occuring body process that happens to everyone; men women and children. You really cannot avoid it entirely as if you did you would do damage to your insides. When we eat some gas is made by the foods we eat; other gasses are also swallowed with the food: oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, everything that is prevalent in our environment. You can avoid certain foods like beans, broccoli, onions, garlic, cabbage, sauerkraut, beef (this produces methane and can smell like natural gas) dairy foods. Other things to stay away from are Soda, beer, champagne, and anything carbonated as this puts more gas into your system (staying away from these also helps with bloating). If gas is still a persistent problem there are any number of things it may be SO SEE YOUR DOCTOR I AM NOT IN ANY WAY A DOCTOR JUST REMEMBERING HIGH SCHOOL BIOLOGY CLASS!! If food is mainly the enemy there are a number of over the counter medications out there BEANO, GAS-X, even PEPTO-BISMOL, or KAYOPECTATE. Also remember that if your partner interts his penis entirely then withdraws and keeps doing this or sucks and blows on your anus during sex even more air is being forced up there and there is only one way for what goes in to come out: TOOT! If it is more frequent than usual and/or smellier than usual, you may well be carrying a parasite like giardia (Google it). This is hard to get rid of and can become chronic if left untreated. It can be eradicated with a short course of antibiotics like metronidazole/Flagyl.
