How cool is Yazoo.

my gods, this was my high school break up song! i listened to it over and over. i have to agree, pretty damn cool.

Me love her, too! I worship the big girls who belt!

I think I wore out my first copy of Upstairs at Eric's. This is my favorite song off that album:

It was always very confusing that they called themselves Yazoo in Europe and Yaz in the US. I guess nobody would have taken them seriously over here with a name like Yazoo... sounds like a Saturday morning cartoon.

Yazoo in Canada.

can't americans get anything right

j/k

love my Yaz

very cool. I wish I could find the "Whispering Your Name" video somewhere online. The video featured Dawn French.

I lurve Alison Moyet. One of my faves is 'This House'. The original version is better than the more recent one on the album. She can be so gut-wrenching at times!

I SOOOOOOOOO love Yaz/Yazoo! Alison Moyet is a Goddess! I had some of her video's on my MySpace page for awhile. She is one of my friends on MySpace.

I first heard of them from a girlfriend in high school in 1988. Fell in love with them, not the girlfriend!

austexfeet, the video for "Whispering Your Name" was on YouTube a couple of months ago, the one with Ms. French in it.

So many good songs by them...too many to list. Vince Clark was a founding member of Depeche Mode & went on to form Erasure with Andy Bell. :)

Alison by herself is an amazing singer...love, Love, LOVE her! :luv:

OH! BTW, I saw a commercial the other day (can't remember the company though!) and they used a cover version of "Only You!"

Pretty Pete that was a beautiful video. quite poignant somehow.

Yeah, I LOVED Upstairs At Erics too. That album is brilliant. Amazing talent. And I love her rich voice. Great thread!

when i get married( if that ever happens)
