hey everyone,

I'd thought it would be interesting for everyone to share their first dates with a guy and such. I havent had a bf yet (but im only in my late teens so no rush) but i always like to hear others' stories. If you guys would like to share, please do! I would love to know how the gay community interacts since i havent really been out there, man-hunting or what not haha :-)
 
met my bf on match. we talked for a few weeks before we met. when we met there was a lot of chemistry. We went on several "dates" for three months. However, our schedules were way to hetic so things fizzled. But, we remained semi-friends and hung out once maybe twice a month over the next NINE MONTHS (talk about torture) and then one summer night when we were hanging out something happened and things really took off and here we are 10 months later!
 
Met my bf on outpersonals.com. I winked him, he responded and about 2 weeks later he asked me to call him. We had an hour phone conversation. We talked everyday by phone for more than an hour each day. Three months later we decided we should meet. We have been together going on 2 years now. Next month we have a civil union. Can't wait to share our rings and the rest of out lives!
 
We were introduced by mutual friends in a gay bar back in 1993. We became casual friends.

Fast forward to New Years 1996 we hooked up and moved in together Dec 18, 1997

The rest is bedded bliss :D
 
We shared a room at a conference after being brought together by a mutual friend. We've been best friends and boy friends since 1982.

We met at a GLBT meeting on campus. I woo'ed him for awhile, making everyone jealous of my affections for him. The attention paid off and we were together for roughly 2 1/2 years before he passed away in July 1993.

A mutual (common) friend introduced us. We started talking and several hours later, we were getting up, close and personal. It did work for a year, and I still remember that time with great affection.

Actually, my first serious bf was the only one, I did not hunt down myself. So, I would not attach too much importance to 'friendly introductions'.

-two years? wow, good for you! I've always heard or even seen gay relationships ending early because there is a high level of shallowness going on in our community but reading this is refreshing.

-that is so sad. If you dont mind me asking, what was the cause?
 
He'd been battling an AIDS-related illness for several months prior to his passing.

When I met James, he had been HIV positive for several years.

Thanks! I never thought match would work for me. On my match page I specifically said "I like making out like the next person, but that is where it stops. Do not expect sex until we get to know each other well." For weeks I only got maybe 5 hits a week. So finally after being down about it--i erased that message and in one week my number of hits went from 5 to 22. After talking to a few of those guys I IMMEDIATELY changed it back and my hits went down again. But low and behold one day... Anyway, match can work--give it some time!
 
he was my one of my girlfriend's at the time best-friend...whoops...but we ended up going out for 5months, and were on and off for well over a year after that =)
 
In the gym in the shower (!). Just subtly checked each other out, no conversation, no heavenly beams of light coming down from dramatic clouds.
Just two guys getting along with their day and pretending each other didn't exist.

Later, however, an elderly queen from Canada came up to me in the local gay bar: I thought he was making a pass at me, but instead he said there was a young man in the corner who wanted to meet me.

It was the shower guy 8'). Were together two years and then I had to move back to my home country; we're still good friends and take trips together -- 23 years later.
