How Do I Develop a Rounder Butt?

I've asked this question before to no avail....I think it must be a hormonal/chemical/genetic thing, that maybe can only be solved with plastic surgery, or enhancing underwear, like butt4you

I'm confused. You have bad knees, but you do sets of squats at 30 and 80 reps?

Getting a firmer butt

I want to get a firmer butt, it's not exactly too soft, but, it's not as firm as I'd like it to be, I want to get the type of ass, that when a guy sees it, he wants to fuck it badly, what types of exercises are there that I could do?.

Thanks for any help.

I've merged the two related threads so that both questions can be answered together...

Very simple. Deep, heavy squats are the best all around exercise. And, I'm sorry, 150 lbs. is actually pretty light. The Glutes are the largest muscle by far in the body. It's easier to do a heavy weight squatting than benching. Most people don't go deep enough. I don't advocate ass to the floor, because you can hurt your knees. But certainly your quads should run parallel to the deck. Knees should never go past the toes, either.

A really good leg session, will make you puke. That's even a bit hardcore for me. But you should certainly experience serious muscle soreness, two days after a good leg workout. If not, then your not hitting it hard enough!

^ puke from lifting? legs? that can't be a good thing.

I've heard similar stories from guys who are serious about legs. There's a story in Schwarzenegger's autobiography about how he couldn't pedal his bike home from the gym after doing a leg workout... can't remember if he puked (one could hope).

Not being able to pedal a bike I get. But puking from lifting legs...something just seems wrong about that. I've heard of people springing nose bleeds during lifts. I remember getting light headed from some heavy deadlifts a while back. Puking? I don't even know how hard I'd have to push myself to get to that point.

Wtf, how does excirsizing develop a rounder ass? It's a shape.

The muscles in the butt are a series of overlapping muscles. They are shaped kind of like an almond- narrow on the edge and wide in the middle. The more you work them, the wider they get in the middle. This is what makes a "bubble butt".

Does anyone have any suggestions on exercises that specifically target the glutes? My thighs and calves are already pretty solid, my ass just needs to catch up!

Leg extensions/curls will hit hamstrings and glutes but squats will always be the exercise of choice for developing butt muscles.

Thank you I'll definitely look into some squats. I'm just starting up again with losing a few pounds and weight training and I remember the last time I got serious about it my pants were loose in the waist but tight around my thighs because my quads got too damn big while I was trying to develop some glutes! :)

Thanks for the suggestion but I'm doing all of this at home. I just can't deal with the gym..... !oops!

More weight is not better, nor necessary. Light weights can produce excellent results.

I squat 5 sets x 10 reps twice/thrice weekly, with very light weights (currently 50 lb) and have moulded buttocks that fill out my pants.

I have been weight training for very many years and have learnt that regular, dedicated training with light weights produces results that reverse the ageing process and enhances self respect.

Strength training also contributes to much better overall health.

Weight training should remain a life time's hobby, and not an obsessional, compulsive addiction for the purpose of impressing would be admirers.

Unfortunately gym related injuries are very common among impatient gym rats determined to create Mr. Universe in much too short a period.

Patience in ones training routine grows discipline, and through a disciplined dedication to the art of weight training, the serious weight trainer realises his vision of a strong, well sculptured physique.

Unfortunately a few weeks after I started this thread in 2009 I injured my back I believe due to bad squatting technique coupled with a squat "machine." I now have a bulging disk of sorts in my lower back and any heavy lifting produces a knife like pain in my upper left thigh. I've started doing lightweight squats recently but the sharp pain surfaces occasionally. I can imagine that the pain might be back full blown if I go much heavier.

I wish you a rapid, and complete recovery.

It really has to do with genetics and your muscle shape. You can develop your butt to its full potential, but that doesn't mean you'll be able to get a shape like someone else's body.
