How do I stop getting private messages?

I think the private message system on this site is great ..|, however I just do not have the time to keep up with private messages and I just would prefer to communicate in the forum and the thread itself. As I do not want to get in the habit of using the private message system as “another” email account to check. #-o Plus, I have nothing to say to anyone in private that I would not say in a forum and thread itself.

About 2 weeks ago, I set up my account to just receive messages from the administrators of this site. Yet a few days ago, I received a private message from someone, who is not an administrator of this site. UGH!!! #-o

I do not mind receiving any messages from the administrators of this site, that is okay with me. Yet I just need to find out is there anything I should check to find out why I am still receiving private messages?

In the “Messaging & Notification” section, the ONLY box I have checked in that section is the “Receive Email from Administrators”, all of the other boxes are un-checked. What am I doing wrong?

Hi WestCoastWilson. The JUB forum "Site Help, Feedback & Bug Reports" might be a better place for this kind of question. "Tech Talk" is usually issues that don't relate specifically to the usability of this site, but rather hardware, software, game consoles, cell phones, etc.

Having said that, I say just ignore them. Eventually the PM sender will get the idea and stop sending. I mean, it's not much of a conversation if one person is silent, right? :) And hey, look on the bright side: Be happy that people are responding to your forum posts and point-of-view enough to be inspired to drop you a note. Usually that's seen as a good thing!

Maybe someone will PM you with the answer.
