How do porn sites make money when they offer so much free porn?

I’m from the Old School where gay porn cost a small fortune back in my youth. I remember buying my first gay VHS tape video in 1983, and the tape cost about $80. Then I pretty much started renting gay porn videos for about $6 a day (from about 1983 - until the early 2000's).

I remember back in the 90's and early 2000's, it was common in order to view gay porn video online, you had to always establish an account AND give your credit card number, just to view and or rent videos online.

Yet now I see some of the more popular porn sites that offer TONS of great free modern/new great quality gay porn videos that are often more than 30 minutes long for free.

I was just wondering how various porn websites can offer TONS of free porn without having a user/viewer sign up for an account or even ask for a credit card??? I’m not complaining, because I’m happy with all of the money that I have saved over the past several years:D, because I stopped buying porn and view all of my porn online for free, without having an account AND without any websites having my credit card or personal information.

They make money every time someone clicks on an advertisement. When you create an account and pay them, the ads disappear

It's the same here on JUB. You probably see lots of advertisements. I don't see any. JUB makes its money when you click on an ad. They make money from my paid membership.

They pretty much have all those people enslaved. They work for lube.

I have never seen any publicity on JUB, except for the cam boys at the top of the page.

/\ Do you go to the home page, or just the forums?

Last I knew, JUB's primary purpose was to post 'TONS' of teasers and promotionals for other companies. To boost their sales and get feedback.

Apart from the cam sluts at the top which you can turn off i've never seen any advertisement on JUB, i've certainly never clicked on any.

To answer the main questions, hell if i know.

Yup, this site is still mostly about advertising. Just looked around outside the forums.

Definitely advertising. I cannot think of much else. Just advertising.

I never click on any cam shows, ads, or anything else. Plus I use a VPN proxy, so they can't even sell my data. So how do they make money off of me?

/\ We're all so fun and smart we attract potential customers.

I only visit the forum from my iPhone so I get a mobile site. So I never see any ads, cams, etc.

A small proportion may be in 'great quality' HD but I feel the majority is blurred and of low quality because it's been pirated from the genuine owner.

Bump
Hoping someone knowledgeable can answer my earlier question:

Even using a VPN is not necessarily 100% snoop proof. Sites exist to compare and recognise previous browsing histories with new disguised browsing, which usually follows the same browsing pattern. We can never defeat the huge computing power (aka mega bucks) ranged against us by advertisers and governments

Hey there Guys, thanks so much for the GREAT answers, feedback, and comments. I greatly appreciate it. For sure, it is good to know how all of this “free” porn works, behind the scenes.

Thanks a MILLION, for your help and enlightenment. ..|

Same as television...bigger the user base, the more valuable the advertising space is to access those viewers. Even though you may not click through an ad on any website...the mere presence of the ad in front of you is an "impression" that is monetized.

Online, those "impressions" are highly focused and targeted to a specific demographic which makes them even more valuable and higher ROI vs spitting into the wind with traditional advertising methods.

Why is this so difficult to understand?

The 'free' stuff is the advertisement.

The snippets and images you get for free are just samples - a taste of the finished/complete product.
