How Do You Answer Your Phone?

I hate that commercial.

They "Hey Buddy" thing is a little too Pauly Shore for me...

Very few people have my cell number and those that do know better than call it.

Call the house and leave a message. I'll call you back.

With my name. First name if I recognise the caller, full name if I don't.

Firstly, I hate that commerical so much every time it comes on I change the channel. Secondly to answer your question, it depends: if its a number I don't know, a simple hello is all I give and go from there; if its someone I do know I usually answer with some smart/stupid/crazy remark.

Sometimes I do answer the phone like this:

"Thank you for calling Heaven, God speaking."

Cell or landline I always say hello, My friend who only has a cell always answers with Hi and my first name.

Depends on who's calling. Some people just get a "hey," others get "hola, guapo/a," while others get "bitch, whatchu want?"

I don't. I just pick up and wait for the other person to talk. People who know me get used to it and start talking. People who don't know me want some sort of proof that I have answered the phone. If it has stopped ringing then obviously I have answered, I don't know why they don't believe I am listening. When I ring other people I just start talking, I don't waste time.

If anybody calls my landline it has to be someone who wants to bother me with something. So often I answer it with "the fuck .. ?". Confuses the hell out of business people.
My mobile I don't answer if there is no caller id .. friends are usually greeted with "hey XY" or sometimes something silly depending on the friend and the situation ;)

If I know who is calling than I use a funny/silly voice while saying "hello".

If it is somebody I don't know, than I say "hello" in a normal voice.

It depends if I know if the phone I am on has call display. I mostly say 'hello' but the rare time I'll pretend to be a pizza place or 911 emergency.

LOL, I use both of those too. What are the odds.

Though, sometimes I'll also use:
"Joe's Roadkill Cafe: You kill 'em; we grill 'em"

ummmm......more people have it now - cuz i was drunk and I posted it in those 2 bars last weekend. (second stall)

I just say hello -- if its work calling -- I simply let it go to voicemail. Maybe i call them back - maybe i don't.

I normally answer my cell phone with a simple, "Hello."

Yes, even when I know who is calling.

I do the same. If it's a number I don't recognize, then I let it go to voicemail. Most of those turn out to be some non-English speaking person who has no idea that they dialed a wrong number!

"Hello?" Unless it's my friend Ian, in which case I answer it "Hey". I'm not sure why.

>>>>I pick up the receiver and snarl, "This had better be important!"

The first thing I said when Pubert called me was "This had better be good."

Lex

by picking up the receiver and saying this call will cost you 3.99 per minute

My Cell Phone is only known by family and a few friends. My phone is set to announce who's calling from my phone book or the number calling, if I've given it to a business for personal needs.

So, I'll say Hi, honey or my kid's name, "mom", etc.

Work: Inside w/ Call Id - depends on who it is - owner -Yes, Sir, most of my colleagues, Yeah, so and so, outside call, I say my name.

Home - no caller ID, so a simple hello.
