How do you deal with turbulence on a plane?

I'm one of those that can fall asleep whenever I want to. I'm also a light sleeper so I wake up to everything different.

When I'm on a plane, most of the time I sleep the entire way through.

start praying. white knuckle the armrest. order another drink. pretty much panic internally.

You can imagine what models and male models goes through.Fashion models basically takes the plane every weeks. They takes a plane almost everyday. They go on photoshoots in several countries around the world. They also go in fashion shows, runways, promote perfume, promote make up,ect...

Fashion models travels a lot.I always wondered how models does to take the plane so often. They must be used to turbulences.I consider anybody who take the plane without any fear brave. It takes lots of courage.Theres no way i could take a plane.I would freak out before the plane take off.I would possibly scream (LET ME GET OUT OF HERE.I DONT WANNA TAKE THE PLANE.PLEASE LET ME OUT! LET ME OUT! I WANNA GET OUT OF THE PLANE)

My aviophobia is severe.I could not even go at an airport.Planes just freaks me that much.

On top of that, the movie Final Destination made my aviophobia even worse.Final Destination gives you an idea of what a plane crash would look. You basically see the inside of the plane when it explode. That scene scared me so much. Its horrible dying that way. From what i remember, that scene was quite realistic. The movie Final Destination was ahead of its time.It was quite original.I know some people who used to take the plane before they saw Final Destination. But,since they saw the movie, they developed a fear of flying. So,they dont take the plane anymore. All of them are men.

Several movies shown plane crashes. But,Final Destination have the most scary and realistic plane crash ever done in movies.

I would possibly been able to at least consider taking the plane if i never saw Final Destination. But,i saw the movie when it came out in the early 2000s.So,i knew back then, that i could never take a plane. That plane crash scene really had a big impact on me.

Fear is something natural.Everybody is afraid of something. You just have to respect your limits. If you can face your ear you can.If you cant face your fear, then you cant.Theres no need to cross limits who are unreachable.

People who are afraid of planes is because they are afraid of dying. They always think about the worse things that could happen.Things like, what if the pilot faints, what if theres a outside gate on the plane, what happens if theres a bird strike in the propeller plane, what happens if a window breaks,ect... People wanna feel safe.

When i saw this turbulence video,it confirmed what i already knew.I will stick to cars. These people in this video seems to nevous and scared. At least a bit.The shaking in this turbulence video makes the movie Cloverfield look like a romantic comedy.

Fear is something natural.

Well, actually there are different kinds of fear. In some cases, fear is neurotic, irrational and debilitating. That's the kind of fear you have.

In other cases, fear is normal and healthy. Say, fear of walking along the edge of a roof.

One is largely rooted in the imagination, and the other is a real appraisal of the situation.

On longer flights I love taking the (Airbus) A380, the largest plane around. Perhaps I've simply been lucky, but the flights have been relatively smooth, which I attribute to its size. I flew A380s in both June and September, as well as (Boeing) 777s, which were pleasantly uneventful flights as well. On the A380 flights I was half asleep during minor turbulence, and the movement seemed to be a gently rocking one, as if I were back in a cradle. Very pleasurable.

I've also finally learned to follow the near-universal advise on flying, which is to avoid alcohol, and drink a lot of water. I also on these flights avoided eating as well, slept 6+ hours, and totally avoided jetlag.

i was on oneamany flights from seattle to vegas on a sw plane on a clear spring day last year. never heard the cockpit say 'return to your seats' so quickly as we entered some funky air. we started sea-sawing tip to tail side to side like ive never felt.

we were almost to vegas and i was just waiting for it to happen again, flying in there from the north you get those sudden jolts over the desert. me being a lil btch didnt feel so good for a while after that and i dont fly as much anymore, just too stressful with all the waiting, taxes, bag fees, delays etc.

the hollywood and media effect impacts too much of our daily lives.

Because I work in a Bank with more than 140 offices world wide I have flown millions of miles. On one flight coming from London to New York a 4 year old was walking down the isle her mother asleep. The Turbulence were so bad that the stewardess when it started ran down the Isle jumped to grab the child she was literally inches from the ceiling landed on her back with the child not hurt. If people follow the instructions, (which they rarely do), of the crew and remain with there seat belt on it rarely hurts anyone. I was in a plane crash plane landing did not stop went nose first into water at the end of the runway one killed no one else hurt because we did what we were told. The one who died was just unlucky. My Mom was deadly afraid of flying, finally after my dad died a boyfriend took her to Italy at the airport he was crying not because she would miss us but because she was flying. She said wish I could take a train I said what if a plane fell on it. When she came back she said she loved the flight grin.

I fly at least twice each month and have gotten so used to turbulence that it puts me to sleep -- literally. When bumps are hit, I just relax back in the chair and feel like I'm being rocked to sleep; same thing on taxiing for take-offs.
