I like to fall asleep to soothing sounds of The Shopping Network. I take the screen off, so its only the sound and not the picture.

It really does the trick, the only problem is that once in a blue moon I end up buying something stupid. My favourite segments are the Coin Show, Royal Doulton and Dr Ho - those put me to sleep fast!

Face down, television on.

When I do sleep, it's w/ the television and light on. I don't like the dark or silence.

Have you tried using a fan or a sound soother Transpogue?

I usually fall asleep listening to Black Metal through earphones. I play it fairly quietly so the double bass drumming, blast beats, and screaming acts in a white noise manner, drowning out the world and soothing me peacefully into the realm of Satan.

LMAO
Gorgoroth much :p

A fan? Nope. Too cold. :)

Sound soother? Like those thunderstorm dohickeys?

I'm generally cold natured, so I used to turn the fan away from me so that it blew into the wall. Fans were my number one "sleeping noise" a few years ago. Then, it was a sound soother. It played frogs, ocean waves, birds, crickets, crackling fire, rain, thunder, you name it. I really liked it, but it wasn't enough to drown out Jason's snoring. I moved on to the t.v.

I really have to take a Unisom in order to fall asleep.

If stuff is on your mind, my doc recommended laying in bed and visually writing your "to do" list on a make believe chalk board, then erasing it in your mind. It doesn't work for me, but since I paid for the advice, I like to share it w/ as many people as possible. Gotta get my monies worth.

Listening to mellow, classic R&B "quiet storm type music. I love to fall asleep listening to Lisa Fischer's "How Can I Ease the Pain," or Patti Labelle "Somebody Loves You," or Sylvester "You Are My Friend." You know, the kind of music that makes love to your mind.

I sleep in my bed (unless I'm sleeping away from home) and I need to be on my back and have relative silence. A few faint background noise wont interfere, but I need to be seriously close to passing out to be able to fall sleep with noise.

Oh, and here's the weird part... I need to flip my pillow over at least once before I fall asleep.

I have a TV in my bedroom and I use the sleep timer, when it is time to sleep I turn away from the TV, but just listen to it. It keeps me from thinking, which in turn allows me to drift off.

I guess I am one of the lucky ones. I always have trouble going to sleep until I close my eyes. Once my head hits my pillow and I close my eyes - I am asleep. I get a good 5 or 6 hours of sleep (don't even have to get up to pee) and wake up ready to see what the new day is going to bring to screw up my life.

In the 69 position.

Just kidding.

We generally fall asleep back to back leaning against each other. We prefer the room to be cool and dark. I like the warmth of his body against mine and the rhythm of his breathing. Neither of us sleeps well without the other in bed with us.

I spoon with my pillow, because I'm all alone. :(

I take pills.

Pills always keep me awake, because I always get worried about when they're going to start working, so I get up and pace nervously until they do, which usually occurs several nights later.

To the sounds of drunk college students outside my window...

Usually though, I need to sleep on my stomach with my arms underneath. Its probably an odd position, but I like it! :)

Pitch black (and I'm talking darker than the far reaches of outer space), with a humidifier running (mostly for the white noise).

ceiling fan going full blast, tv on (usually a golden girls episode i've tivo'd) timer set and the sound low. I have to be on my stomach, arm under my pillow and snuggling with another pillow. one of my legs has to be out and on top of my comforter.

when i go to fall asleep, i take out my contacts, turn the tv on sleep timer (normally on cartoons or something funny) and i turn out the lights. usually, im out before the next commercial break.

i usually fall asleep really fast though.

Ive been really bad as of late. Ive been falling asleep with my laptop in bed with me, still open and on. even worse is when im watching stuff online with headphones on. Im a horrible sleeper. Then again, if I had a man in bed with me, it would be a different story.
