How do you make money?

I thought American Apparel only hired whites

I work for their parent company Urban Outfitters. I've heard other stores do discriminate some but not mine, we're SUPER diverse. The hiring process is extremely shallow though, I will admit. It's more about your look and style than anything.

I sit in my office.

Some days I just flip back and forth between JUB and my email and stock portfolio, putting out fires, ensuring that all the work of all the team is co-ordinated and keeps flowing out.

Some days I write proposals. Some days I just look over the shoulders of the staff at their desks.

Some days I just daydream about working in the garden.

Some days I just skull-fuck anyone who isn't abiding by the terms of a contract and then move on.

Some days I make dreams come true and some days I just extinguish hope.

Today, I am waiting for new clients to arrive for a meeting to discuss their project and work out the terms of our contract.

My best job?

Every client for me is a new job.

When I was young and precocious, I would fly all over North America to work on different projects for a consulting firm. It was fun until I was 30.

Today, I will do almost anything not to have to travel on business.

This was the best for me. What was so bad about it? The work was so so but the people I worked with were awesome. I started in grocery, went to service deli, went to dairy and quit later on for a better job. In grocery we would all talk and just BS all night since we worked in consecutive aisles. Service Deli was great too since I got to work alone and could BS all night and the last couple hours, bust ass and no one would be the wiser. Dairy was fairly easy too. I liked working inside the coolers. We would eat the yogurt. I was an LP nightmare =D

Worst: It's a tie
Abyy's - I always got stuck on the fryers. No matter how many times I washed my clothes, they still had that faint grease odor. The store was small so anywhere you were, management could see you. I had a young assistant manager and he was just an ass. He pissed off everyone all the time. And one more thing, there was this girl there that was so full of it. She was ugly (sorry for judging) and thought she was all that. She came on to me a lot and after saying I wasn't interested, she still flirted. Blecht!
Abercrombie & Fitch - They treat their workers like shit; Expectations of busting your ass for minimum wage was arduous and ridiculous. Absolutely no deviation from store policy and if one had any problems with management...FIRED! If a manager just didn't like you...fired! Pretentious A-Holes they were. They had an atrociously high turnover rate. After 3 months, I just didn't show up one day.

Worst- Subway....Its not the job I hated....its the fact that halfway through a sandwich, people would change their mind... ugh.

Current/Best- Starbucks. Get to work with one of my close friends, the other people are cool too. Also get all the free coffee I want while at work Helps me stay awake while doing homework too.
