For the record just because a man is Gay doesn't necessarily mean he'll be effeminate with it, but I guess we've got Film & TV to blame for that old stereotype.

Welcome to JUB!

>>>I was just wanting some ideas to make me feel better.

Be proud of who you are and your voice.

>>>Please don't just say BE PROUD OF WHO YOU ARE AND YOUR VOICE.

Whoops.

Sorry, but that's the answer. Accept how you are. A self-assured guy with a high voice is gonna get a lot more sex - straight or gay - than a uncomfortable guy with a low voice.

>>>I've never done anything with a guy and I dont think it would be the right time and age in my life to start experimenting.

When will this time come around?

Lex

When it's more socially acceptable.

That's so wrong!

To talk straight....that's tough. You're just physically born with it. Some were meant to be effeminate....some were meant to be flamers.....and some were meant to be Str8 actin'. I'm not gonna say it has probably something to do with growing up(oops, I did) but it may just. I grew up with my dad teaching me manly things and ended being titled "Str8 acting"....ladies love that...|

1. Not all of them do.
2. Plenty of guys grow up with their fathers teaching them how to be "manly" and still end up being feminine anyway. That goes for both gay AND straight men.

I can't picture anyone out of high school to say "YOU TALK GAY" or "YOUR SUCH A GIRL" so you must still be in some sort of schooling. I got the same comments all throughout school. You just have to learn to not care about tiny little things like that. If people are friends with you, they must not care about those little things either, else they wouldn't be friends with you, right? They're just teasing you. Everyone gets teased. It's a part of life. That's a pretty minor thing to get teased for, in my opinion.

As for getting girls, there was the biggest flamer you'll ever meet in my high school. Most people thought he was gay, but he was completely heterosexual. Sure he got teased for acting like a girl, or "talking gay" but he just brushed it off, and the girls were all over him. If anything, it's an advantage because girls will get closer to you, at first, if they suspect you're gay.

I think what you said is wrong. I'm gay and I don't have a high pitched voice at all (Thank God). That's just a terrible stereotype. Only some gays have the dreaded high pitched feminine voices.

I don't know why that is but it just is....

I don't find the voice "dreaded" at all. I don't have it, as it turns out - I've got a boring, lowpitched robotic voice. But I wouldn't mind having it.

"Talking straight" is an attitude where you pretend to sound stupid.

Thats a fucked up and idiotic comment.
No matter how much you twist it, there is a way to "talk straight" now we can question if thats a good name of it, "talk straight" but thats not my point.
Gay guys, no matter what language have their ways of talking, and it seems like a majority of them do talk like that.
No matter how much you want to twist it to say it's not true, it's still a fact and a reason why media pushes it.

I can't say I sound particularly gay, since I'm in a science-field and I just got straight friends and pretty much been all my life....

I got gay "friends" as well, but since we have absolutely nothing in common they are more acquainted then friend. And they sound PRETTY gay and all the stereotypes you can come up with.

So stop the self-denying bullshit....

As for the author of this thread, I think Lex put it pretty well, be proud of who you are, tell them to fuck off of they bother you.

Burp a lot, ask "how about them Packers" and open beer bottles with your teeth.
LOL. This post, and this whole thread itself, actually, made me think of this scene from "The Birdcage". :D

There is no way to talk straight, outside of some preconceived stereotype. If it is a fact, prove it. I've never heard of these studies, but if they exist, I question the testing procedures.

So, one's profession or area of study is related to how one's voice sounds? Ironically, I've known several men with high-pitched and thin voices, yet they were straight or at least made that claim. Maybe they are lying?

Way to go to miss what I wrote.
I used the term "straight talk" in lack of better word.
as opposed to the "gay talk" (which is a perfect word, pardon me).
You telling me that there is no way to tell if someone is gay by the way he talks?
Thats bs and you know it.
I can tell, you can tell, EVERYONE can tell.
Unless you lack social skills and hearing and been living under a rock for 30 years of your life.

And now misunderstanding what I wrote, which is pretty fucking weird because It was pretty clear that I was talking about my life and the people I hang out with had the effect on the way I was talking.

And no, there aren't a lot of gay people in the science area, they tend to go to classes that requires you to have a bit lower IQ such as design classes and arts.
Yes I said it.

You hang around with homosexuals a lot you end up speaking like one, no matter how hard you try to avoid it.
And you know what I mean by "talking like one".

Stop misunderstanding me.

Really? Do you have anything to back this up other than your own ridiculous thoughts inside your head? And what he hell does you being a science field have to do with anything? LMFAO.

Yeah it's called reality, check it out when you the time for it.
There are around 20 000 students in my university.
There are all sorts of faculties here.
Wanna guess were the majority of gay students go?
It's not computer science, physics...math...
Nor biology.... chemistry.... I can do this all day.
I know because there is a gay-group....

Yeah it's called reality, check it out when you the time for it.

Once again, this is your reality. The thoughts in your own head. You have nothing to substantiate anything you're saying. Being someone who studies science you should value proof over unsubstantiated claims.

Right, and I'm sure you have proof to back up the fact that you know how many gay students there are at your university and what they study. Beyond that, I'm not even sure what that has to do with the topic at hand.

I know the amount of members in that group.
My point was it all depends on the people you hang out with.
The way you talk that is, I was just giving myself as an example, but some here are to dumb to understand that and instead get insulted.

You should really try to improve your ability to read between the lines, correct that, your ability to F**king read at all.
:p

...Okay? There's a "gay group" on hundreds of campuses. You think ALL gay people at each university will belong to it? Talk about critical thinking skills.

Yes, and what does who you hang with have to do with the topic at hand, which is how to talk straight? You've yet to demonstrate what talking straight even means to begin with.

You should really try to improve your ability to read between the lines, correct that, your ability to F**king read at all.

You should really try to improve your ability to make a sound argument, without resorting to personal insults. :)

"It's just hard to get a girlfriend when people tell me that I sound gay."

Hmmm....So you stopped trying to get a girlfriend because your friends told you you sound Gay?

Whatever you want in life, whatever your Dreams are just go for it...

Women arent too picky and you'll find a Girlfriend that won't care about your "high" voice but she will care how you treat her...Women arent like guys, remember that...

"but something about gay porn turns me on."

That's not surprising..It might be Gay-Fucking, but it's still Fucking and even a straight guy might get a Hard-on from watching 2 guys Fuck each other..Having a high voice and watching Gay Porn does not mean anything...If you decide to start sleeping with guys then you have to re-examine everything...:D

>>>It's just hard to get a girlfriend when people tell me that I sound gay.

Spending time posting on gay messageboards probably isn't helping your cause, any, either. :)
