So I was driving to Honolulu today to pick up my BF at the airport and I realized that I'd forgotten my CDs. I just turned on the radio but not wanting to take my eyes off the road, I just let it stay on the station it was playing.

It was some top 40 pop station and I liked the Carly Simon song they were playing (you're so vain. and hey, you KNOW she's talking about me), so I kept it on.

Then a pop song by some guy I didn't know came on. Catchy, he sang it well and it was just the sort of song you want when going to pick up your BF at the airport. I listened to see who it was by.. hey, I'd buy it on iTunes..

Then the announcer came on and said "there's Clay Aiken with Invisible..."

So the question is where can I turn in my self respect?

But it IS a pretty catchy song.#-o

Awww come on, at first i couldnt stand him then I heard his last album and he did start to grow on me- no pun intended

Lol, it's okay to give in to mainstream. I too have several mainstream guilty pleasures. My latest one is that new song by that Eliot Yamin guy. So cheesey and generic, but so good!

Ah... I was stationed in Hawaii when Carly Simon was the rage. That was back in the mid-70s; I suppose things have changed considerably since then.

Jasun I think posting it here was where you destroyed your self respect...

When something like this happens to me I normally make sure no one has seen or heard me and I sweep it under the rug and pretend it didn't happen...

( How were you driving to Honolulu from Los Angeles?)
