How free are we here at JUB?

We have enormous freedom on JUB. Boundaries have to be set in order for everyone to enjoy that freedom. The boundaries set forth by JUB are very fair.
 
Somewhat free, but I have seen certain mods edit/delete posts in the politics forums that were completely unneccesary to change (I'm not talking about the insane posts by McsFanNo1 [or however it's spelled], I'm talking about genuine posts with good points in them).

So I have definitely seen enough abuse/misuse of mod power to not feel completely free. I'm happy enough with the way things are though.
 
^ I steer clear of CE&P. Even my local creche doesn't see as many squabbles in the sandpit!

I think sometimes the problem with CE&P is that a perfectly good post becomes the catalyst for a mini-meltdown, and in order to bring the thread back on topic, some changes have to be made - which sometimes involves deleting posts or removing certain points that de-railed the thread. The changes shouldn't change the original focus of the thread - but not being au-fait with American politics or visiting the forum very often, I can't say whether its abuse/misuse or simply putting the toys back in the sandpit!

For what its worth, we have an equal number of Post Reports from both Democrats and Republicans - they both think the CE&P mods are biased towards the other!!! :lol:

As free as the site owners would want us to be.

Sometimes I feel we're a bunch of snotty, overly pious little brats that had barged into a house of a complete stranger, rearranged their furniture to our likening, made a bloody mess of it and continuously demand things to be run according to our preferences; we would then proceed to insult the hosts and kick their guard dogs in the rear fortnightly.

I think I'm actually more restrained than most people here. Sometimes I don't respond to a post I disagree with, but that's more because I don't want to get into a pissing contest than because I'm worried about an unfavorable reaction from the mods.
