I can't believe British television is so progressive. You could not see a show with this kind of content on primetime on American tv right now. The main star of a show involved in so much gay activity. It's weird because America is supposed to be this big diverse and free nation but we are far from it compared to some other countries.
There was so much James and John action and dialogue. Then Jack is still trying to get into Ianto's pants and flirting with him throughout. You think a guy who's married to a man IRL could be the main star of a show in the States?
In America gays are so sexless. They never have a sexy gay character. And the thing about John Barrowman is that although we know about is orientation he is still believable as a straight man when he flirts with Gwen. that goes to show you a gay actor can star opposite a woman. It's unfortunate because i was reading in GQ that lance bass was trying to get back into action and producers would tell him to his face that he wouldn't even be considered for roles because he's gay

In comparison to British television, all the programming here is less sexual (I always say, Europe is to sexuality in programs as America is to violence). We have sex on TV here, but when I went back to visit family in England, sexual progression is very ahead of here. You have to subscribe to certain channels to get nudity (if that's what you want in a show), and that mostly caters to men in the fact that it only shows women fully naked. Men naked normally consists of their ass. Frontal requires a whole other overall rating (NC-17 or MA, and even then, it's for about 2 seconds). Again, gay sex requires subscription to channels like Showtime or the LOGO channel. So in a sense you are right, but we aren't sexless.

Wow, I really should look at the OP (waves to aijalon) before running at the mouth. Not to mention read the post (I chose not to since it was about Torchwood's season premiere, that doesn't appear until next week (how'd you see the uncensored version?).

ok i saw it now. ;) it was ok. i like ianto he's cute. the spike dude wasn't all that good looking anymore. not sure why. maybe it was the loss of the platinum blond spikey hair (when he was on buffy).

Pretty good season premiere. I'm not too happy about the romance regarding Gwen and Jack, but it was to be expected ever since the first episode. Jack has had so many past loves, I'm hoping that Gwen won't be one of them. She's good with Reese, and I want Ianto to be Jack's current love (considering his other love, the real Jack Harkness, died, as did that woman in the fairy episode). I thought it was cute of Ianto to be jealous of John, as was the bickering between John and Jack on who the wife was. The line about the tourist entrance was priceless.

i actually think gwen/jack is gonna be the like the ross/rachel thing where they will be with other people as distraction but eventually end up together. it couldn't be more obvious that gwen fiance is a dud. and i can't see jack and ianto being long term. but i like that toshiko is finally getting attention i like her better than gwen.

Remember, that "Spike" guy, James Marsters will be 46 years old this year.

Maybe you thought he was younger?

i loved it, the hot kissing followed by a fight was great!! captain jack is sexy. this time around they're gonna put on an edited version for younger viewers, i'm quite intruiged to see what they'll cut out.

It looks like Torchwood and Dr Who premier on BBC America on Jan 26th. I can't wait!

are you serious? this is the dumbest shit i've ever heard

THE most tedious episode ever. The actual plot, what little there was, didn't make any sense. None of the characters made a single logical move. That there was so much 'gay' content didn't intrigue me as it was obviously there as a sleight of hand to make the viewer not notice the crapfest taking place otherwise. Awful.
As to the personal stories, Ianto and Jack have the same cool chemistry they had last season, and, now that Jack's brought John to the Hub he can no loger ever carp about Lisa. Gwen's announcing her engagement to Jack was a LOT forced. More interested in what Owen's reaction was. They keep trying to convince us that there's 'something' there between Gwen and Jack when there clearly isn't, nor should there be. I really like Tosh and did all last season as well. Marsters looked horrible, but he has for awhile. Glad he continues to get work though.

Gwen and Jack is just silly. There's just obviously nothing there. I think they're just using her to make the point that jack is supposed to be "omni"-sexual and not just out and out gay, because they wrote a very very gay episode otherwise. I'm okay with jack screwing who or whatever as long as they write coherent storylines, but this was just boring.

Well I enjoyed it. I thought James Marsters' character was really good. It was quite funny and had some good action scenes. If people don't like it don't watch it.

i guarantee they are making this jack and gwen romance the overarching theme. you just tell. i could see them actually killing ianto off very soon. but maybe not since they seemed to have beef up his role. i like him going on missions and not just being the housewkeeper

I really hope not as I'm really not interested. Torchwood and Doctor Who aren't really supposed to be about love stories.

torchwood i feel is more about relationships than dr. who. there's much more sexuality to it. dr. who is more of a mix. it's like grey's anatomy (which i hate) is more about relationships and sex than medical, and ER is a mix of both.

I really enjoyed tonight's episode. I really felt for Beth. It looks like they've set something in motion for future episodes.
