Remember turn off your TV week? I could never do that for long, especially during football season. I thought I lost my internet connection and almost cried. I reconnected and had a huge sigh of relief.

That got me to thinking about how dependent we are on the www. How long could you go with NO connection to the internet? I go a few days w/o it when I visit my dad. I even stop at the public library just to connect briefly with JUB. LOL

Not how low can you go...how long can you go?

Me, a few days and then I'm shot. (kind of sad really)

During a power outage, or at least until I get the generator going.

But I do insist on e-mail (Hotmail/Yahoo) free weekends.

When there is a malfunction somewhere and I can't reach the internet, I turn restless very very quickly. I'm totally addicted and I'm convinced I would turn crazy in an internet free environnment like in prison.

Maybe twenty four hours tops and that's a big maybe. The internet is like my only friend really. I don't have a life outside work and the internet compensates for my insignificant existence. Gives me an alternative other than sleeping.

Not long, I am a remote employee so without internet I can't work. So I have to have internet connection. Outside of work still not long, I use it for playing video games and general surfing.

4 waking hours max! Even when I'm not on my laptop, I would be on my smartphone.

During the super storm Sandy--we lost electricity for almost a week here and I certainly wasn't connected all the time and while the first day I felt like a junkie going cold turkey---by the third day I found it sorta refreshing.

I used to be able to go weeks without logging onto the internet, but now I have a lot of friends online, and I wouldn't like not being able to have contact with them for an extended period of time.

I have a friend in NJ, and he lost his power for a week after Hurricane Irene, and two weeks after Hurricane Sandy. Both times, he used a gel cell battery to power his modem, so he could still connect to the internet.

This spring i went almost two weeks w/out internet while visiting my parents.....and didn't miss it a bit. I'm mostly bored with internet these days and have turned to crafty type endeavors to fill my time and i've been quite content with less 'net these days. Of course i am an old fart, i am 40. :D

Have to use it most days at work , though am not really into social-networking , this is the only site that i am a member of .
Don`t even have a FB a/c .

Excluding mobile phone data connection, three week.
Including mobile phone data connection, four days.
My field of work however requires frequent Internet connection.

I guess there is nothing wrong with being so dependent on the internet, although I do think if I spent half as much time on the internet and devoted the other half to exercise I'd be healthier and happier.

Depending on the situation. I mostly use it to do the flash game dailies, but these days mostly to go on JUB. I can freak if I don't routinely do them. But not too bad if I am preoccupied with real life projects or assignments.

Not a day if I can help it. I did have some ISP problems with Comcast where my service would go out for 6 hours sometimes and I felt lost. I even watch TV shows online and haven't watched actual TV in a few weeks. Even when my internet went down I watched movies on my computer. I have it connected to a large screen TV.

On the job it necessary each and every day. Gone at times when lost signal or been on vacation, most was week.

.
It depends. (How's that for an answer?)

I'm so dependent on the internet for paying bills, looking up people/businesses/phone numbers, getting airline departures and arrivals, checking traffic congestion on the expressways, shopping, you name it. Short answer: not at all.

Recreational stuff? A week or less. :help:

I CAN go without the internet for quite some time. I've been without it for days on end. Not crazy about it, but I can accept it.

Lex

i'm addicted to the internet where i do experience withdrawal symptoms when i'm not on it for a certain time period. :(
