How long since you've been to the dentist ?

I go every three months for a cleaning, by my choice. This way I spend only 30 minutes having my teeth cleanned. I hate the dentist, my dentist knows it, and he is very good with me. This past year I have had a number of dental problems. When he works on me, I get an intital shot and when that takes effect he gives me 2 more. I have felt no pain with the drilling process. The inital shot is not that bad. The cost is expensive. All dentists have different charges. Call around to see what prices are. More important to me than price was the dentist and how kind they were. Good luck

Its been about 6 months. Missed my last appointment.
Will go in the New year I expect.

I have my teeth cleaned every three months..
And bleached once a year.

i always got o the dentist .. it seems like every 2 months, ive had a root canal, braces, 4 wisdom teeth removed and cavities .. bit of work .. i should get like insurance on them

every two months? ridiculous!1youll get cancer from the xrays!!

We get our teeth cleaned every 4 months, but x-rays only once every two years.

I like the dentist, but his assistant is always rubbing my thigh. What's up with that?

Every six months. due in another couple of weeks.

In all my life, I've never needed to have a scrape, an x-ray, anything extracted, or even a polish. Certainly no cavities. He just looks inside, goes "hmm, ha, you're okay" and I'm out again.

I guess I must have freaky super-teeth.

](*,) ](*,)

Dentist every 3-4 months. Orthodontist as needed - i. e. to get a new night guard so as not to pulverize my teeth with grinding.](*,) ](*,)

And yes the orthodontist is a very nice looking young dr. I refuse to see his assoc. for what she did when she bought the practice from my original dr. Bruce who i see, knows that if he leaves that office, i go where he goes - he is exceptional.:=D: :=D:

eM.

I went to the dentist yesterday for a temporary crown and a cleaning.

the cleaning was rather ouch, it seemed like my dentist enjoyed using the metal pick thing to go between teeth (and much to my discomfort, LOL)

i should go regularly because sometimes when my mouths gettin' jack-hammered some pearlys get rearranged!!!! ;)

Every six weeks ?

Every two months ?

Twice a year ????

You guys *amaze* me ! I had NO idea people had such intensive
dental care.......

I suspect when I *finally* drag my sorry ass into the office, things will
be quite different than I remember them.

What with the advent of electricity, and all..... ;)

I hate dentists!!! Arghhh.....:grrr:

It's been nearly 3 months now but that wasn't too bad an experience......

I was just there Saturday for my six-month teeth cleaning.

I have to go back the last week in December for the removal and replacement of three old amalgam fillings.

My dentist has been systematically going through my mouth to get the old metal fillings out. Some I've had since I was a kid. He's afraid that they deteriorate with age, and wants to make sure none of them turn my teeth gray.

Unfortunately, my dentist will be out of town on vacation that week, so his young, cute, associate will be doing the fillings. This associate has a nice ass (yes, I was looking, hehehe!). However, he talks nonstop.....(could it be that he's one of us??????) :D

Joshua - don't believe all that crap about expensive dentistry in the USA - at least visiting a dentist in the USA you will leave with a healthy mouth. If you want to experience pain try using the National Health Plan in the UK, and in Germany if you do not have private insurance I guarantee that your teeth will rot before they are properly repaired.

If you do not have any money: first go to a university where there is a dental school. There should be one near by. You will get a rather accurate review of your mouth's condition. You also can get the work down there - at least take care of the serious stuff.

As far as pain goes - it is amazing how dental procedures have eliminate much of the pain. I had a root canal several months ago and did not even know I had it done.

Don't let any one give you a lot of crap about dental schools - they are good, and you stand a better chance of not being financially abused as you would by going to a private dentist.

The most important thing to realize is that the condition of your mouth conditions the rest of your body. Set aside any thought and fear of pain - it does not factor in good dental care any more.

It's really true that the US has the best health care money can by--it's expensive but good if you can afford it. A good (American) friend of mine once made the claim to her German boyfriend that German dental care was 20 years behind American dental care and he wouldn't disagree with her.

The dental school thing is worth looking into. If you can get in, you can get a substantial discount. When I was in grad school, I didn't have dental insurance and looked into getting care from the school of dentistry there. It was a good deal, but unfortunately there was a waiting list to become a patient since it was so popular. Still worth looking into though.

Plus, dental problems very rarely go away on their own. In fact they tend to get worse over time if anything, which (like I said before) will just mean more money and more pain later. Most dentists have financing plans even if you need to borrow the money.
