How many DVDs do you own?

Way too many! I love to get great bargains on classic DVDs and movies that I enjoy!

about a 100. Only buy ones that I will watch over and over. Many of them are male XXX.

i only buy SciFi, but i have a lot of full seasons of stuff. like star trek (seven seasons with 7 disks each except for the original): original, next gen, ds9, & voyager. battle star galatica (old and new), about 50 doctor who dvds, alien quadrology, all planet of the apes movies, matrix trilogy, spiderman trilogy, jurasic park trilogy, oh gosh too many to name. lol. probably about 125 i would guess.

These are some good size collections. Just curious. Are there any favorites amoung the large amounts? How do you organize them? My collection is at 140.

Do you guys really watch these over and over? I probably own about 20 because there are so few movies that I want to watch again.

Or is it just because you like collecting?

If I were to estimate I would say between 200 and 300. There's no way I'm gettin up and counting.

Here, you count them.

i'm with ya ronboy on classic movies and old tv shows, i get great bargains on amazon. one of my prize sets are all 12 season's of "my three son's", about 90 dvd's on that one. mill creek puts out great box sets of classic movies also.

I'd say around the area of 1500+.

Like hell I'm going to count them all. They cover two giant bookshelves.

And then there's VHS and what ever I have saved on my external HDDs...

mine is largely in alphabetical order. unless it's a trilogy, then i goes in the stack as a group, but in alphabetical order by the first movie's title.

What is a DVD? Is it like a CD, but for movies? Can you play it on your computer or do you need a special drive?

My BF won a DVD drive for the computer from work about a year ago. But we have not installed it yet. We thought it was another type of CD drive. If we installed it, how can we get the movies out of the computer onto the TV? Or, do we have to watch it on the computer? It would not seem the effort, since the largest computer monitor we have is 21 inches.

Below is a picture from the Internet of the drive he won. What can it do?

You can record DVDs. If you rent or borrow a movie, you can copy it onto a blank DVD disk to keep. You can also just watch the DVD on your computer. :)
