How many friends do you have?

I have 10 or more, off the top of my head, true good friends that I am very close to...my regular crowd (a couple of their spouses I could do without ;) ). I would do almost anything for them and I think they would be there for me as well. I have many many acquaintances whom I am friendly with and have known for years...some I see on a semi regular basis (but would probably not be available to help them move  ) and others whom I no longer have contact with...but if the opportunity arose I would be happy to see and hang with...like old friends from college, h. school, old neighborhood, etc. I've always felt you could never have too many friends, however I have no on-line friends...I'm not sure if it is in my nature to get close to someone without personal interactions.

I have three true friends. I live with these people and do everything with them. I also have a few decent friends at work. I have three on line friends who i talk to a great deal. Thats just about it.

I consider myself pretty lucky... I have a couple of friends that i've known for 18 years..and i'm only 26.. and another 10 or so since grade 9. So i've been very lucky to have a lot of friends for a long time. I also have several different groups of friends including my coworkers who i hang out with regularly. I'd say close to 40 or so that i see quite regularly....hard to juggle!

One of the advantages of being.......ahem ...... mature is that.....

by now we've had plenty of opportunity to determine permanent friendship status....

1/2 dozen I've been close friends with for more than 40 years.....

10 or 12 have been hanging around with me for 30 or more, and 3 or 4 for 20 years.....

then therer's almost no one.....I've made VERY few friends in the past 15+ years......and that's pretty wierd.....

then I've made several very strong friends in the past 3 years or so......

I've gotta figure out what was going on with me for that time - funny how answering your question raises a whole 'nuther issue for me....

Three, One, he lives 3000 miles away & we have not seen each other in almost a year, and spring of next year may be the next time, we hope, - love the cell phone. (*8*) (*8*)

Second a dear and she is going through a period of time that no one can really help her with, but it will very soon be over.(*8*) (*8*) All we can do right now is talk on the phone at any hour convenient to her. However, February 7th, regardless of how things are going, we now having tickets to see Whose Afraid of Virginia Woolf - with Kathleen Turner and Bill Irwin - and what seats.(*8*) (*8*)

Third - one of the closest and dearest for so many years - but things have not gone well the last 3-4 years, and given what i did for this individual at a most important time in her life, i am no longer willing to compromise, or be placed in any position to accept any major responsibility for what has occurred. I have given it my all, considering what i have had to be dealing with - so no more. I believe these coming weeks with the holidays, will determine things once and for all. :grrr: (*8*) ](*,)

eM.:(

And of course some very critical people here - small group of truly unique individuals.(*8*)

and then of course there are my teddy bear, Aloysius and Rupert, my hedgehog hand puppet.(*8*) (*8*)

ADDENDUM

and of course  You have yet to speak up yet, do you not think that is only fair if you are going to post such a thread?

I read somewhere that if you can count your true friends on one hand you are rich

I have different kinds of friends... I have drag friends and AA friends, and some who are both, and online friends and work friends and so on and so forth. But of really close friends, I have only a few. Caroline, of course, and some other people to whom I used to be much closer but have a hard time keeping in touch with these days.

So I would say one best friend, five close friends, and a hundred or so friend-friends. Which seems more than enough, though I feel guilty about not making more of an effort to keep in touch with everyone.

I think there are about six people who I consider really really really good friends that I totally trust and think are wonderful even when they totally piss me off and who I am sure feel the same way in return..... seven if you include people online. :)

The word friend has lost all meaning if you ask me.

Me, my friends just come and go like seasons fergalicious but I ain't promiscuous
and if you was suspicious all that shit is fictitious i blow kisses (mmmwwahhh),
That puts them boys on rock, rock, And they be lining down the block just to watch what I got (four, tres, two, uno)...............................
