How many hours do u work in a week?

Right now I work about 60 hours a week and that feels like a lot. However, I am applying to medical school so I know that I will have a life filled with long hours of work, especially during residency.
I am one of those people who needs to put in long hours to feel productive and good.

I work an average of 60 hours per week.

Like you, I am salaried, and can't "just stop" at forty hours.

Before my promotion in August, I was working about 70-80 hours.

My partner is a teacher, and does complain (at least once weekly) about my schedule.

Mitigating circumstances:

1. I love my job

2. My boss is very appreciative of my work ethic

3. I have excellent benefits and slary

4. I am fifty, and of the generation where men, many times, define themselves by the their career, and not family (I am working on this)

In this economy, I am thankful that my job is secure. Several of my friends have been out of work, and my own company imposed a hiring freeze the beginning of November.

Sometimes hitting the right balance between business and personal responsibilities is challenging.

Used to be about 50 but now I have jacked the job in it's down to about 20 working on my boat.

70 hours a week, often more. Salaried, but there are a few 'perks'. Very, very occassionally I work a weekend shift, but only if it's absolutely neccessary.

It is a bit much, and it's very intense, but I'll be retired at 50, so I can put up with it for a few more years.

"I work all night I work all day to pay the bills I have to pay,
ain't it sad"

Okay as austexfeet recently said in one of his posts - No more fucking ABBA :(

I only work 37 hours per week, and work on flexi-time - the job is shit but the conditions are pretty good, as is the salary for Cornwall.

Pixel babe you work too hard - you'll be knackered by the time you are 50 - I can't imagine what it must be like working 70 hours plus a week and sincerely hope I never have to find out.

way too many---60 or more depending

75 is to much unless its crappy pay then i would say work at it while looking for something better...

i currently work 32 hours because we are doing our seasonal employment so until thanksgiving i get reduced hours... though soon enough i will get 40+ i will be working a closing shift and we stay until the work is done so it could be an hour later then closing before i get off...

I don't count how many hours I work. I have no idea. I'm self employed and I work a lot. I constantly doing things around the home as well as working, so I'm not sure how many hours I work. The business is going through growing pains where I'm not sure it is ready for me to hire more people or just work more hours. I'm hoping to eventually have a staff large enough for me to concentrate on the things in the job that I want to do but I also don't want the business to get too big either.

My boyfriend and I try to work at the same time, so we can schedule time off together. Both of us work bizarre hours. He often puts in 14 hour days, which I could never do, but we manage to make the time (often, like, 4 days or more at a stretch) really count so we can focus on us. It is a rollercoaster sometimes, but it works for us.

usually 68 hours. 12 hours a day Monday - Friday and 8 on Saturday, but I have worked 90+ before.

I've been averaging 75 or 76 since I retired. Can you believe that, since I retired!!??!! My mate is doing about the same. So much for the joys of owning your business. I think we'll probably keep it up for about another year.

I work 40 hours every week.... because that's all they will let me have.

I work 40 hours a week. A couple times a year I pick up some overtime.

I work in a grocery store i average about 36 hrs a week. but in the past three weeks i worked 42 hrs. 36 hrs reg. and 6 hrs time and a half on sunday. i am on a contract if u worked on on sundays u get time and a half. i make 10 dollars an hour.
