I know that we are not that popular in the gay community. I even had a guy tell me one time that he wouldn't go on a date with me because I deer hunt. :confused: I don't know. Why do you think that we are precieved in such a negative light and do you stereotype all rednecks or do you just do it to the one tha you have met?

Since I'm a hick from the midwest I have no say on this issue. But, if I can understand what you're saying then you're okay in my book. ..|

Never have felt anything negative about those considered rednecks.

I love much of the same music. Many guys considered rednecks share the same values of love of country, family, and love of nature that I do.

I respect any gay man especially one that grows up in the so called redneck community. Seems to me they may have a tougher time being 'out' than in many other places.

If I meet a guy that I like I don't give a rats ass about him being redneck, uppity yuppie, snot-ass rich, dirt poor. Doesn't matter as long as the person is honest, caring, genuine and true.

Just my two cents worth.
 
I grew up surrounded by North Carolina rednecks. Mostly good natured guys with a few bad apples. Some are homophobic. There are a lot of closeted gay rednecks. Those are the ones that are homophobic. They struggle with gay feelings and take out their anger on openly gay men. I have a very hostile, closeted, homophobic cousin.
 
I don't hate rednecks... a lot of them are SEXY!

All of us at JUB practice total diversity; that being, we do NOT dis-like anyone, until they give us a reason and even then, we respect each individual's rights on any subject.......if, they on the other-hand will respect ours as well!

So, just because you come from a particular region of the U.S., considered to be very conservative in your thinking, we still think some of you are "hunks" and yep, we would do ya!!!

Oops! Almost forgot, uh, I'm taken; but say, we have so many "FINE" JUBBERS who would love to fill-in for me!

I so have issues with ignorant people who are quick to spout off about their uneducated opinions.

I think redneck is synonmous with uneducated and backward thinking...
 
SHHHHHHHHHHH! Don't tell anyone Dirk, I love rednecks. Granted some are real hot, but I have had some of the best sex I ever had with a guy here who is definately a redneck.

One of my brothers is a transplant to Texas (going on 22 years). He loves being a redneck, and I love him. His kids are great, as is his wife.
He thinks being a redneck gives him the ability to say anything about anyone and anything. His wife and kids put a stop to that as soon as he starts.

Rednecks are no different than the rest of us, except they wear more plaid.

To be perfectly honest, despite the possibility that it makes me look like a prejudiced coward, I have to say that the true honest-to-god redneck makes me distinctly uncomfortable. If I see a big filthy pickup truck with a Confederate flag and a gun rack in the rear window, country music blaring, and a guy with a mullet and handlebar moustache wearing a red baseball cap and a plaid shirt over a wife-beater... I keep my distance. He may be a perfectly nice guy, but too many fag bashers look just like that, so I'm going to err on the side of caution and stay away from him as best I can.

Speaking of which, I'm going to be spending my weekend just outside of Visalia CA with the Grandmother, visiting her relatives down there. Not the Redneck Capital of California, but one of the many satellite colonies. God I hate the countryside.
