What an intriguing question. One would think that because I live in Washington DC a few blocks from the capitol, I would have no knowledge of a redneck. However, I grew up in a small town, on the wrong side of the tracks, and most of my friends and probably a goodly number of my relatives would be qualified as rednecks. But you know, I've met a lot of fake wealthy people who wouldn't give you shit if you were standing in the barnyard. But my "redneck" friends would give me not only the shirt off their back, but they'd wash it and press it first. Quite honestly, they know what "friend" is and what family is for....(and let's not make some joke about me being married to my sister...damn it it was my brother!)
I did raise a few eyebrows when I moved into my building in DC as I asked where I should locate the burn barrel for the trash!
