I had considered it, but there's no real price difference between cable TV with internet and and phone with DSL internet in my area. And with DSL would come a host of new fees & installation delays.

Also, I like our local newspeople. Watching CNN or whatever online just wouldn't be the same.

I haven't had cable since. Let me think. Maybe 1985?

I did have satellite TV for a while, but I even couldn't take that anymore. As they say, 500 channels and nothing's on.

Guys, life is too short. Turn off the tube. Go for a walk, read a book, bake a pie. Nobody ever said on their deathbed, I wish I'd watched more TV.

I only have antenna tv...got rid of cable about 5 yrs ago. I've no regrets except I can't watch hockey or baseball and have basically lost touch with standings and players, etc. There are a few shows I do watch online. If I want to watch a movie, I rent from redbox....1$.

I was staying at my sister's for a few days while she was out of town...surfed her cable channels repeatedly looking for something to watch...anything...realized I'm still not missing out on much.

Cable TV, or TV in general is becoming a wasteland. Constantly repeated same programs over & over. The demise of good channels such as National Geographic (now owned by News Corp=fox) who've turned in into another reality "Cops", "
Drug Lords" or "ice fishing in Cuba" channel. And at 2 AM all infomercials. The religious crap is over the top as are the home selling bullshit junk channels. I don't want the fucking "God Network" or the fucking Golf channel but there is no ala-cart.

Sadly what will happen is as cable loses more luster the companies that provide cable and broadband will all go to a bandwidth fee in addition to having to pay for netflix or Hulu which in addition may add still another fee say if you want Ala-cart to Smithsonian, or AMC (who plays the mindless CSI over and over and over then Escape from LA for 5 nights in a row).
You will end up paying more or legally you will see less. Quality of picture counts as well. That is bandwith.

I can't stand Comcast. Unfortunately we have to deal with them here because of our internet service, which they haven't done right at all.

I can't stand them either. It's our only choice though for cable around here without getting a dish. I only have them for internet service because they are by far the cheapest.
