I am doing research for my cleaning company, and I cannot find a site to tell me how many paper towels the average house hold goes through. So I am going to figure it out myself.

My question is: How often does it usually take you to go through a regular roll of paper towels? I did not include a poll here, because I would like actual numbers and I think they may vary more than a poll could cover.

More than Bounty tells me I need. Their 'spills' look a whole lot bigger than they claim they are. (I tried spreading out 20 ml of water the way they do and I'm convinced they have no idea how much 20 ml of water really is.

I use the Bounty select-a-size and one roll lasts me two months.

It depends on how much I use them as a towel and how much I use them as a paper plate.

As a guess though I would say a roll every 2 months.

Use it every other day. use it to wash my glasses, dry my hands, for when i eat. etc.. we usally buy three paper towels

I go through a lot of toilet tissue, that's for sure. I often tend to save a lot of my Paper Towels though. If one part of the towel gets dirty or is used, I'll just rip that piece off and save the rest.

Probably a large roll of Bounty select-a-size every 10 days or so... Maybe once a week...

Ooo ! Cool paper towel art ! :gogirl:

I use the tri-fold dispenser type. One package every couple of weeks or so.

I try to use reusable cloths over them.

I go through one roll maybe in a month.

Not to many...maybe on average 2 sheets per day...so at 60 sheets per roll, about 1 roll a month.

I buy the select-a-size type, and I probably go through a roll every four months or so. I really don't use them very often.

If I'm on a cleaning binge I'll go through several rolls in a few days. Otherwise for just normal use, about 1 a month.

I guess a roll a month, I live alone, how much can one guy use? I am truly amazed at some of the answers here, 1 a day, wow, thats a lot.

I go through about one average-sized roll of paper towel every 3 days.

Ditto. The Brits don't call it "Kitchen Roll" for nothing. We don't eat out a lot, and we absolutely trash the kitchen cooking, enjoying life, etc. That calls for some paper towel to clean up. Or to blot lettuce. Or to drain ground beef. Or to clean the burners and grates on the stove. Add in windexing for the bathrooms and general housecleaning, and it goes fast.

That is even after the fact that I have about 60 paper-towel sized cloths (microfibre-y sham-wow-y type stuff) that put in the "sanitize cycle" on the washer and reuse.

I will go one step further and say that those who use paper towel are NOT green...
Please conserve and think of the Earth. Even so called ecological paper towels end up as waste...
Not if they're composted.

We go through one or two rolls a week depending on how much cleaning and bug smashing and whatever we're doing. I use them instead of napkins for meals too. And wiping poo off the toilet seat, and other things, too, if you really MUST know. :D

*rant begins*
And for those of you who are concerned about the environment, I'll plant you a fucking tree this fall! My Mom lives on a Tree Farm and she's CUTTING THEM ALL DOWN THIS FALL ...all 80 acres of the things. And she's planting new ones. ..|

There are currently more trees in North America than EVER. Mother Nature used to burn down more than we use today every freaking year...now we manage the forests and there are more critters living in the woods than ever before (even before White People came to North America). There are very few 'old growth' forests left, and those burn down sponsored by Mother Nature quite regularly...urgh.

If you are opposed to logging, please indulge yourself and use plastic toilet paper. #-o

*end rant*

And yes, I recycle all of my newspapers. I compost a bunch of my paper towels. Even screwed up computer printouts get reused as scratch paper. I'm not opposed to recycling paper AT ALL. One of my best friends is the plant engineer at a paper mill that hasn't used a stick of wood since 1982 and his company is the #1 recycler of paper on the planet. And you have no idea what happens to the mess when they recycle paper...the locals call it the Shit Pile...it is currently over 400 acres and 400 ft. high...recycling isn't a perfect solution, either...ask my friend **** who now has to haul his water from town because his well is contaminated.
