I use man bags...leather tote bags and such. I use mens Louis Vuitton, Versace and other bags. There is nothing wrong with a guy carrying a bag...There is a complete difference between a purse designed for a women and a bag designed for a man.

So, I was at Denny's with my brother and two friends and a gay guy walks in with some friends. He was carrying a purse. No one at my table said anything. But the geezer behind me nudged his wife and they looked on in shock.

The elders tell me they were all the rage about 20 years ago, but only in bigger cities and more cosmopolitan areas. The leather man's hand bag was sold in better department stores and was even used by some straight guys and advertised in mens fashion magazines like GQ. Ocassionally I see a guy with one but I see more messenger bags now. Actually, if you Google "designer men's hand bags", a whole slew of them pops up. Prada sells one that's over $2000. Somebody must be buying them.

Usually a messenger bag if what I'm carrying is too much, but that was usually only a school setting.

In a more casual setting I don't bring too many items with me. Maybe a point and shoot camera but I have a little case for it for me to carry by hand.

LOL. I read somewhere that 99.9% of all LV is bootleg. So whenever I see something with its logo I assume it's fake.

Remind me to invite you out the next time that the Antiques Road show is in town. :luv:

Oh, but I seem to recall that anything over the age of 30 (Except Obama) should be dead.

:p

Sad really, cuz we could have had some fun! (!)

I carry a $10 "back pack" if I need something more than my wallet, or cargo pants can carry.

And I use that to carry my condoms, tit clamps, and lube! :sex:

I like tote or messenger bags. I don't have any yet but I will be looking to get one soon since I'm getting sick of having stuff crammed in my pocket.

I don't know if they count as Purses (lmfao) but I have Armani and dolce & gabbana Messenger bags that I use for school because I don't use booksacks, I dress preppy so...yea. I get nothing but compliments on them because they look like a high quality computer bags. I personally would never wear a purse/satchel/etc even if it was social acceptable.

Naughty, the majority of these replies weren't pursuing a negative agenda. And your comment about your fellow gay men is bigoted, which is something I thought you rallied against.

Well society in general devalues femininity, so gay guys are just reflecting society at large. It doesn't excuse the behavior, but explains it. I think society and gay men are becoming better at improving this though.

I carry a mens bag around. Because I have alot of things to put inside of it though.

The only male I've seen carrying a purse around was a kid, who couldn't have been more than six, walking around the food court today with one.

I've never seen an adult male walking around with one, and I don't either.

Basically, anything I need with me, I can carry on my person with the need for an external bag.

It's ok to have one....if you are over 70 years old!! lol. That's kinda a old man thing. I had one in the late 70's/early 80's for my lunch money when I was a kid. I haven't thought about them since. I didn't even think they still made them. I have seen men with purses. It's always the flamer. Most are a step or two away from being woman anyways. I call it penis repellant. Huge turn-off.

Ditto dude

I call it a purse, but it's a messenger-bag; a purse is technically a smaller object, anywhere from five to twelve inches, with handles or one-shoulder strap (of which I of course have several, flashy things); my bag is seventeen inches square with an over-the-head shoulder strap... so not technically a purse.

I used to always wear jackets so I'd have enough pockets to carry all the stuff I need, but that was before I needed so much stuff; just my electronics are too much for pockets. And then add a note-pad and various pills and a book to read and a hat and something to eat... I must have a bag.

I never got the appeal of backpacks, you have to take them off to get into them; that's why satchels and bookbags and messenger bags appeal to me, hanging over the shoulder at hip-level, I can sling them around to the front and rummage through them with both hands.

I have a similar bag indiana jones is wearing. It's ash gray in color with silver accent. :)

Same here, unless I am wearing cargo pants or something. I hate feeling weighted down with all that stuff. And I'm not crazy about how some satchels/messenger bags cut into my shoulder.

I end up carrying my phone, wallet, pen and note pad (has come in handy a lot), mints or gum (I grind my teeth a lot.), loose change, and a book or my DS depending on the length of the trip.
