  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

How many people do you have on ignore?

](*,)](*,)

no one - there have been a few times i was tempted, but i figured what difference does it make. i can always not respond to a posting and that ends the matter there.

instead i just make it a point of ignoring certain posters whose postings i know will just annoy moi.:grrr:

eM.:(

Yes, I put one person on my "igonore" list because I decided he was a pathological liar and--may I say it--asshole. He also harassed a friend of mine and I decided it was not worth high-blood pressure to read his inanities. So sue me.

Who cares what everybody else does. If the person annoys you that much then more power to you for putting them on ignore instead of engaging them in their bullshit.

No...there's no ignore in real life but fuck...wouldn't it be great if there was?

Oh wait...there is...it's called 'walking away' In real life you just stop having any interaction with the person that irritating you right? Who just stands there and continues to be irritated when they can walk away? (Okay...other than masochists) I think it's a great feature for keeping the peace in a community where you can't really just walk away. You never know when a post is going to pop up from the person who irritates you.

I don't have anybody on my ignore list but I'm sure there will come a time when there is and I'm not going to be made to feel bad about it by anybody.

I'll put all you bitches on ignore!!! Then I'll be here all bymyself just like inside my head!!! hahahahahaha whew...got a little light-headed there. Okay...maybe I got a little carried away with that last statement hahahaha

hehe...I crack me up.

I thought I was the only one who had those moments...Nice to know there are others like me...

Five people.

I have enough drama in my life, I don't need them adding to it.

:rotflmao: I couldn't read past that, I couldn't stop laughing.

My mind is so dirty. :(

..... Will cause too much drama.
Drama at JUB??? Heaven forbid!!!!!!!! (*U*)

PS ... I have no reason whatsoever to put anyone on ignore.

Can Mods ignore people?

I have no one on ignore--

I can do that on my own, thank you very much.

No one.

There is no ignore function in real life, I'm not going to hide behind it on the net. Besides, I get too curious...

Perfect answer!! :=D: I couldn't agree with you more. Btw, I have none and no intentions to do so.

I did have one jubber on my ignore list, but then I took him off just because I was too curious as to what he might be saying! This same guy was eventually banned and then never returned under the same user name.

Anyway, don't have anyone on my ignore list now, but I imagine I'm on a few unofficial ones! Some folks love to ignore me!

i'm not one of them. ;)

Did Ankh just post soemthing?

I had loads of people on ignore until I culled my ignore list a couple of days ago. Now I have only four--three that remain from the old list (because they were really bad) and one new one.

I don't know what I'd do without my ignore list. I'd probably tell so many people how the cow ate the cabbage that I'd get banned.

So if you put someone on ignore, and all you see are dots intead of their posts, what happens if someone else quotes them in their own post? Do you also see dots where that other person quoted them?

Actually, you don't see dots. You see their name but not their post. There's also a little button that says "view post" that you can click to see what they wrote. When someone quotes a post by an ignored user, you can see the quoted text within the post made by the person you're not ignoring. That often provides enough of a filter without leaving you entirely in the dark about what's being discussed.

all the golly gees I am so open to everyone, I love all and la di da listen to all

is perhaps pertinent to Hot Topics where the biggest offender of positing is the self centered high maintenance queen whose every thread is "look at me! pay attention to me!

you hardly need to ignore those people, so it is not a Hot Topics sort of thing

get to Current Events and Politics - and there are vicious repeat liars who bait and repeatedly state wrong information and insult and ridicule all who disagree with them, calling out posters by name - and that is just the mods!

The posters who follow their leads, its like you have to put them on ignore or risk being banned for the day you finally have enough of their contempt for truth and their sole desire as to bait and stir up trouble so yo8u want to respond in honesty: but that will get you banned.

So it is easier to ignore them. (except the mods who cannot be ignored, unfair, because to disagree with them makes you a mod abuser, it is perfect setup) Maybe certain moods will pass and folks will calm down (and you can always view any post from a ignored poster) so one can reduce the list of ignored -

it is just a different dynamic over there than anywhere else at JUB and ignoring is a necessary tool there to keep the blood pressure low and avoid the intentional bating with stupid attacks and cruel misuse of facts.

so don't feel superior please, its just that you dwell in a part of JUB where such is not necessary and you are envied that

as it is now, with mods calling out posters by name and other posters attacking candidates on things that are so patently ridiculous and evil (Candidate A has a brother who never met him who now says to a tabloid that when A was a child, he was a radical throat cutting terrorist... always a massive play to lies and bigotry) that Ignore becomes a blessed tool because you can only respond "what lunatic asylum did you escape from, you loon" without getting banned.

Nothing like that in Hot Topics, Relationships, Sports, Religion, etc etc etc

so count your blessings ye who avoid the forum of perdition

and who could ever ignore Kebvo our bud and Mr Barbrey and the other fine fellows on HT? or Stacy and Alphalaw, the wonderful? Or soilwork who speaks with authority because he knows wherein he speaks? Not the came here as in Current Events/Politics.
