Back to Creepy Old Fart
I've got a Memory Foam pillow and an old one on top of that. Works great although the old one is about ready to go away. I'm a side sleeper and can't sleep on my back or tummy so the combo works great to keep my neck straight.

Three. One small one between my knees for hip support, one to wrap my arms around because my shoulders are too broad to comfortably sleep without support there, and one for my head.

The wife and I both use two each: one standard, one ultra-squishy king-sized one. It seems in our sleep we war over acquiring the blankets and a third pillow. haha

Across the head of the bed is two stacks of two with a fifth on top in the center. This ensures I have pillow coverage across the entire width of the bed as I tend to roll back and forth alot.
A sixth is my favorite pillow that I shove up under my chin and wrap my arms around. I always have this pillow. Even if I go home for a holiday and will be spending the night I bring this pillow with me.
The seventh and eighth pillows are at the foot of the bed because I have a tendency to flip the opposite direction during the night.
This would give in indication of why I prefer to sleep alone. I mean, I don't mind if you wanna climb in and have sex but when it comes to actual sleepy time, I'm sorry but you gotta get out of my bed.

Four -- one for my head, two to bolster me on each side, and a special memory foam knee pillow between my knees. By the time I'm ensconced with all my pillows, it's hard to tell whether there's a person in there.

I sleep really weird. First of all I sleep with two pillows in under my head covered with my duvet, then I stack about 8 pillows in the left corner of the bed and I rest on it covered by my duvet, then I lay on my tummy with my right arm wrapped around the pillow. I normally wake up on my left side hugging a pillow but sometimes I wake up on the floor or upside down.

At the moment I am sleeping on a sofa and there is only room for the one pillow.
When I get the chance to sleep on a bed, I usually have two. One propped up at an angle against the wall or whatever and another one at an angle leaning against that one.
Although througout the night, whatever the amount of pillows, my body moves about and I always, without a doubt, end up with the pillow vertical with everything from the chest up resting on it.
