I go to a barbershop around the corner from where I live and he charges $12 and thats too much IMO, lol. If I could get the service w/o having to listen all the sports talk from everyone it wouldn't be as bad. He has stopped a couple of times to debate with a customer but some days if i"m lucky I can get in and out in 10 min.

How many million Rand is that again? ;)

1st world doesn't include NZ$, far as I recall... :p

And less in rand than in Zimbabwean money, that's for sure. We rely on our northern neighbours to make us feel like a trillion dollars. Literally.

I've paid $10 and I've paid $170. Sadly they both ended up looking the same. So for the past three years, I've been cutting my own hair (#3 all over). Looks the same. Actually I've had people who loved my home made hair cuts.

I go to a local barbershop. Barber does a good job - $18.00 plus a $2.00 tip.

My haircut costs me about $15. Given I've got a natural Friar Tuck hair style going on, I really should get around to investing in some clippers and start doing it myself.

Hair clippers are very cheap.
I ask my massage friend to cut my hair ...

Since moving to my small town in the rural South and finding a great local barber, I pay the princely sum of 11 bucks... $15 with a tip. I keep my salt and pepper hair buzzed short so I go every 2 weeks. I paid stylists a helluva lot more in the big city (L.A., Boston and Toronto) and they weren't nearly so much fun... although the fancy-pants coffee was appreciated.

$20 with tip. I need to find a better stylist but the competent ones that also speak English charge $60 or men's cut and that is ridiculous for me.

I pay $10 plus a $2 tip. I didn't used to tip, but found out that a lot of people do, so I do, besides the price hasn't risen in about ten years.

One "Plus", about cutting my own hair, is that it forces me to at least vacuum the bathroom floor (and me), after I'm done. ..| #-o  :slap:

All the more reasons to ... no matter what ...

Keep smilin'!! (*8*)
Chaz :luv:

Haha, nothing like a little hyperinflation :-D

Wow,
I'm surprised to find that I'm in the almost majority - of those who cut their own hair.
I've had clippers for years, and get to it every so often.
My (semi-formerly) blond (going grey/silver) very fine and thinning hair doesn't require a huge amount of care- the #4 clipper on top, with the graduated clippers around the ears, then close trim on the neck do me just fine.

Lots of practice. Simple buzz the first time, then you get used to fading it.
