  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

How much do you resemble your father?

Apparently a lot.

Only time it bothered was when I was about six and someone said "ooh dun't 'e look like 'is dad"

I wasn't happy at six that I looked liked a 36 year old.

ok from this thread i guess:

1/ if your dad is gay, you will look like your dad
2/ if your dad is not gay, you will look like your mom.

Show me the study.
Making a statement without backup is wellll.. moronic.

well, i did say "i guess".
That means i don't know and more research is needed.

You said "wrong", that means you know.

I look like Dad, sound like Dad, walk like Dad, talk like Dad, am very neat and tidy just like Dad, have Dad's patience and easy-going nature, and even my handwriting is the same as Dad's.

I'm pretty much a clone of the old man (except for the gay bit ;) ).

Everyone says I look just like my father when he was my age. They also tell me how much I resemble my father's mother.

I just felt the need to note that this thread is currently directly above the "I have a penis" thread...so it reads..."how much do you resemble your father?" "I have a penis." ...I'm done now.

I can see a resemblance in a few of our character traits, but not very many. I try to use these characteristics for good instead of evil. And I'm delighted that there is so little overlap. Basically, he can fuck a rusty tin can. Or I suppose he is, actually...

Pretty much the exact same! Just a more youthful version, and slightly less masculine. I am damn proud because he has great genes! (Fast metabolism, very healthy, good bones & teeth) Couldn't be happier :)

I look like my father's side of the family, except the shape of my face is very much my mom's

I look like a peasant, but then again I come from a long line of peasants...

My mother's brothers were all tall and thin, sometimes too thin... they looked like heroin addicts. Some of them were heroin addicts come to think of it...

so I guess is not bad that I take after my father's side of the family.

Personality wise, we both talk too loudly, but other than that I take after my mom. I am not handy at all and I am not religious at all. I am also not as gregarious as my dad

I look more like my father than I'm comfortable with; I'm better-looking, and taller, but every now and again I'll catch him in my reflection when I glance quickly at a mirror. And when my joints hurt, I walk just like him... when I catch myself at it, I start walking like RuPaul just to make up for it (though it hurts like hell if I'm not warmed up).

I looked more like my mother when I was thinner, though, so I think feature-wise I'm a pretty equal blend of them both. I have Mother's hair, eyes, skin, and mouth; I have Daddy's bone structure and head-shape, and a skin-tag on my right thigh in the exact same spot as his.

Character-wise, we have very little in common: we're both binge-type addicts/alcoholics, and we're both fairly laid-back and charming in our personalities. But he's extroverted, narcissistic, and type-one bipolar while I'm an introverted, avoidant, and type-2 bipolar. And I don't think he's a very nice person, while I consider myself at least medium-nice and trying to be better.

The jury is still out on whether I look like more like my mom or my dad, but my dad and I think the same. So much so that when we're solving a problem, people have said it's like we're clones.
