This past week and a half I'm being on a diet. I have lost 10 pounds but I want to lose more weight a little bit quicker.

I eat around 3-4 hundred calories a day but I don't keep score on the carbs.

So how much exercise do I need to do before I start dropping in weight. Right now I don't do any kind of exercise.

300-400 calories a DAY? That's not a diet, that's starvation, and you're going to gain all the weight back as soon as you start eating normally again.

Go here:
http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm

Enter your gender, height, weight, age, and the amount of exercise you plan to do. Odds are you're going to be wanting to eat at least 1700-2000 calories a day to lose some weight.

Also, 1-2 pounds a week is normal weight loss. Anything more than that is incredibly unhealthy.

You need more calories!

Eat normally, just avoid junk food and fried stuff, the obvious "bad" food. Keep your water intake up, and if you'd like, eat smaller amounts but eat more frequently, like 5 or 6 small 'meals' per day.

Get out and run, swim, bike, do whatever works for you. Its the exercise that'll really help you lose the weight. Keep your cardio up, that's the money shot.

But STOP starving yourself! Trust me, you're doing more harm than good.

You can't live on 400 calories a day.

I don't think that calculator works right, I have to eat 1800 calories a day with little or no exercise? That doesn't seem like cutting back that much.

Are you looking at maintenance or weight loss? The former is how much you need to eat to maintain your current weight.

I do eat but just food low in calories like fish...salad..tuna...stuff like that.

I just have one big meal a day and small snacks throught the day.

You can eat your recommended caloric intake and still eat healthy. You just need to be proactive about figuring out which foods give you the most bang for your buck. Things like soup, salad etc. are high density/low energy. They fill you up but the calorie and nutritional content from that alone is negligible.

You'd be surprised how 3 full meals a day, when planned properly, can still keep you on a diet-style caloric intake AND keep you full.

Possibly you're eating more than you think you are. Snacks can add up fast. In any event, you should have a balanced diet, something like the Zone plan maybe. You should have some fat and some carbs every day.

I concur with everybody else that slow dieting is more effective in the long run. The problem with a crash diet is that at some point, your body rebels and it becomes virtually impossible to keep the weight off (unless you have an eating disorder, which is very scary).

Have you talked with your doctor about any of this?

Your right SonOfSlobone...for the past two days i have been keeping score on my calories including all my snacks.

The outcome is in the high 500 range :(
