many years ago I worked in a vault
one of the jobs was weighing, stacking bags of coin to be rolled later
put the jar on a bathroom scale and weigh them
$1000 bag of quarters back in the mid eighties to the early nineties weighed about 49.50 lbs.
oh, and if you can, weigh the jar empty...subtract from the full weight
that might give you a close estimate
not sure what the weights are these days...the coins seem lighter to me
