Ugh...I hated being single. I was one of "those" singles who always moaned about not having a boyfriend, etc. (there are threads here to prove it)

Now that I've been on the other side of the fence for five years--I can say with most certainty that I was bitching for no reason. It took being in a relationship for me to see how fabulous being single was in retrospect. Would I trade in my partner to be single again? Hell no. But the single life wasn't nearly as bad as i made it out to be, and I can look back and remember how much fun I had.

and sidenote: I'm in a relationship, and I still feel miserable during the holidays. It's definitely not a singles-only problem. I'm much more of a spring-summer person. :lol:

Amen to that! I've been with my other half for 10 years now, and while I wouldn't trade him for anything, I look at my two currently single 'and loving it' friends with envy.
 
Being single has some advantages for sure, especially for those of us with career issues. With that said, I don't really enjoy being single and it's a pain to find a good man, so I don't think I'd trade being single for a relationship.
 
Is there anything wrong with liking being single unless you meet someone that you want to be with?
 
Normally I'd roll my eyes, then stop and roll them again at something like this. Being single is a beautiful thing, but her blog is pretty spot on with how I felt over christmas this year. Just a feeling of loneliness that wouldn't let up despite a lot of time with friends and family. I was single over the holidays last year but didnt feel this crummy. Maybe I didn't have enough eggnog? :confused: Why isn't that delicious shit available year-round anyway?
